You SERIOUSLY can't make this up

Tonights Calgary Flames vs Columbus Blue Jackets game marked the first time Johnny Gaudreau returns back to Calgary after shocking fans after leaving the team last year in Free Agency. This was a seriously fun game and you just simply cannot make this stuff up as Gaudreau got a penalty shot! 1. DISCLAIMER The Calgary organization did honour Gaudreau with a montage and the fans gave him a standing O as well. It wasn't ALL booing haha. I just had to clip this portion out due to copyright for some reason. Thanks!

  2. Makes me think of Dach when he played against Chicago. He got the winning SO goal šŸ˜€ I was like a cheesy 90s sport movie lol.

  3. I dont get the hate for him… the dude played his heart out for the flames and decided to move closer to home. I dont blame him whatsoever. Flames fans should have showed him more respect.

  4. ask yourselves if Sutter wasn't the coach there would Johnny Hockey still be there? and what about Matheuw Kachuck? just asking the question?

  5. Some of the refs are so terrible this year and Iā€™m not even a fan of either of these teams. Saw a wild game the other day against I think it was the panthers that had some of the worst Iā€™ve seen all year.

  6. It's normal that referees lost their balls between 3rd and overtime. Canada got one wc free because of that.

  7. The best part (s) He left more money in Calgary to take a ā€œ Home Townā€ discount, but didnā€™t even sign in his hometown ā€¦. Plus, he didnā€™t even go to, not only a Cup contender but a playoff contender ā€¦ Well, heā€™ll have lots of time in April & May to visit his family.

  8. Notice how Flames fans are pretty respectful of Tkachuk and hold no resentment of him asking for a trade? Hockey fans are a pretty dumb group sometimes with how they evaluate these types of things. The reason people in Calgary are mad is because Gaudreau put the team into a position where they weren't able to get anything in a trade because he indicated multiple times publicly throughout the season that he was open to signing with Calgary if management matched any other offer from another team, but wasn't willing to make an early signing because he was having a career year. This made sense from a business perspective as to why his agent wasn't mentioning anything about contract negotiations throughout the season, as Gaudreau's value was rising as the season went on, and stood to also be influenced by how well he'd perform in the playoffs.

In reality – at least from evidence available – he was not really considering staying in Calgary and was looking to be closer to home, and just never leveled with team management regarding his intentions. Wanting to play in your home country, and maybe in a smaller hockey market where your not a household name is understandable for a guy like Gaudreau who's more lowkey, and has a close relationship with immediate family, so there is nothing wrong with that. It's the lack of honesty and transparency that made people angry. It put the team into a bad position where they lost him for nothing. That is worth some resentment from fans.

The fans also gave him a standing ovation at one point, so they appreciate what he contributed during his time with the Flames, but also boo him when he's possessing the puck to show their discontent with how he left without any transparency, and the position that it put the team in. This isn't rocket science, I don't understand how so many people are braindead to a point to think the fans are all assholes.

  9. I played hockey for the majority of my life but slowed down on watching stuff lately. However, your clips, commentary, and titles have me watching more and more.

    Thanks for the vidoes. šŸ˜ƒšŸ‘

  10. I feel like NHL refs in general have got more inconsistent over the last few years than ever before. I don't know if its a change in their training or a lack there of. Every game you see tons of missed calls and many penalties that shouldn't have been. The NHL needs to get control of this situation before the playoffs hit.

  11. wondering if Columbus having second thoughts on getting that kid doesnā€™t seem to be living up to all the hype šŸ¤·ā€ā™‚ļøšŸ¤”

  12. I live in Calgary and love the flames and do like Columbus. The Blue Jackets have had an acceptional team since the city was awarded a team.

  13. We loved Johnny Hockey, but the way he left, left a bad taste in our mouth. He was the 3rd highest in the league for points last year. We couldā€™ve traded him and got some value out of having such a good player leave, but instead we got nothing (we got nothing for Monny too) and had to scramble to get some good players (Hubes and Weegs) in exchange for Chucky. And weā€™re damn lucky we got Kadri to sign with us, which helped negate such big losses of star talent.

Players come and players go, but what matters is HOW they go. We wouldā€™ve been happy to at least get some draft picks for Johnny. At least that wouldā€™ve been SOMETHING. If Johnny wanted to leave, then thatā€™s fine. It hurts, sure, but thatā€™s fine, as long as he lets us get SOMETHING in exchange. But he didnā€™t. And thatā€™s why fans are so unhappy with him.

  14. Sketchy non-calls? LOL wow. Laine tries spinning faster than he can and loses his balance, and Gaudreau chicken-winged a stick and dropped like a sack of potatoes trying to get calls. They were honestly lucky not to get embellishment calls for that garbage. I agree with the rest of the vid 100%, but those non-calls were 100% the RIGHT calls.

  15. that pass was beautiful for sure, but man that guy fucking slappered a puck that basically literally just landed at his shot, and scored against a NHL GOALIE, LAINE HOLY SHITTTTTTTTTTTTT
