I don’t know why Anna is smiling, she has to move to Vancouver

How does anyone think this is a bad trade? Raty is a prospect, Beau is a bottom 6 forward, and the pick is <12. It’s an absolute win for a playoff push, and a steal if he extends.

Thankfully his job isn’t to make trades we like, it’s to make our current team better. Which it has. This trade wasn’t about improving our farm system and years from now. It fixes some issues this current year and assuming we sign Bo, a few more years after that too

I realized a long time ago that you can’t please this fan base’s doomers ever. It just isn’t possible.

Lou could’ve straight swapped Bailey for Horvat and some shit head doomer would be in here talking about how bad a trade it was because of cap space concerns or something.

The real problem is that the team was in a slump and the doomers are clamoring to sell the farm and full rebuild despite the team being only 2 fucking points out of a playoff spot despite said slump.

This is a great trade for what they needed to retool. Raty may or may not make it a “bad” trade but that won’t be known for years and anyone that thinks getting the better Bo is out of their damn mind.

I agree with you. This trade is a good one for us.

This fandom loves to think _every_ prospect is the second coming of Bobby Nystrom. Think of the uproar when we dealt: Bellows, Strome, Nino, Ho Sang, etc etc. While, yes, there is always a possibility one becomes a massive NHL asset, our choices to deal them have panned out.

Horvat is a top-level NHL-er _NOW_ and Raty will take years to _possibly_ develop into a good NHL-er and more to become a _possible_ elite player.

Our time is now and this trade fulfills our needs.

You guys are all grossly overestimating Horvat’s affect on this team. You’ll see.

Beau sucks, Raty and the 1st are coin flips. This team is in win now mode. Can’t wait years to see if they pan out.

Lou should simultaneously be fired for not acquiring top players and for trading our first round picks for top players.

I guess he should have offered Ross Johnston and a 4th for Horvat

I don’t even like Lou, but his main criticism is that he doesn’t make moves, let alone significant ones.

He did that yesterday. This could backfire in July if Horvat isn’t extended, but we still have 5+ months before we even cross that bridge.

I can’t hate Lou for going out and landing the big fish, for once.

It’s a great trade on paper if you think he fixes this team.

But he doesn’t. This team is far from a one player fix.

  11. th3D4rkH0rs3

I see 0 downside unless he doesn’t resign.

I have the same opinion on this as I do the Jets and an Aaron Rodgers move.

I’m sick of “potential”. Make the win-now move. After sleeping on it, I like this move. A lot.

Why are some people acting like Raty was McDavid? He’s a mid-level prospect with some upside. It’s not like he’s dominated at any level.

And a 12+ pick most likely won’t make an impact for a few years, if ever.

As for Beau, people are shitting on a guy who’s given us some of the most memorable moments in the last decade of Long Island hockey. Unfortunately, in the cap era, his production coupled with a $4.15 million per cap it just didn’t cut it.

You’re getting a guy who scored 31 goals on a garbage team.

    Everybody relax.

Good trade imo, but I bet we see Beauvillier go on a streak because some of the pressure and expectations on him are likely lifted for a time and he can relax and hAvE fUn. I mean they wanted him despite a pretty quiet season.
