  1. To be fair, the change of scene could have been what he needed to find his game again, there's no guarantee that Kirby would be this good if he had have stayed.

  2. Good video but just [TOO DISRESPECTFUL] towards Chicago as [YOU CAN TONE IT DOWN SOME MAN]. The Habs got a [WIN] in the deal as it seems so move on a [BE PLEASED] with that but [RESPECT] the team that gave the deal to the Canadians?

  3. I don't know if Johny Hawkey speaks french but the accent (or lack of) was on point 😉 Dach looks great so far. Lot of potential. Liked Romanov but i don't see how this trade could end up being bad for Montreal.

  4. As a couch GM, I was quite disappointed in Davidson trading him away. Same with Debringcat. Could you imagine Dach, Debringcat, and, Bedard on a line? That would be wild. haha

  5. Chicago clearly rushed him in the league. He wasn't ready to play in the NHL at 18 or 19 years old. With the habs, you are starting to see the player the Hawks drafted 3rd overall. The package was there, he just needed an environment that would allow him to put it all together and Montreal offered him exactly that! The kid not only developed his offensive skills, he also dug in and got that dog (chien) out of him. He's a menace on the ice now. His physical play is scary!! The fact that Kent Hughes got him for the 13th overall pick is unbelievable. He's a stud!

    Great video btw!

  6. Hawks fan here, really was a head scratcher seeing him traded away for a mid-first and a second. Glad to see he’s doing well, he was lacking a lot of confidence playing for the hawks. I think Davidson dropped the ball here personally..🤷‍♂️

  7. As a hawks fan we all knew just how good dach could be but also that management wasn't focused on developing him properly while Kane and toews were still on the team and he needed a change

  8. Honestly I don’t feel bad at all for the Blackhawks because if they can give up on a player that fast then they shouldn’t have the right to have a player like Dach

  9. People need to stop sleeping on players that are 23 and younger… idk why people started doing this but Dach was drafted 3rd overall and y’all just gave up “this shows why we need to wait with slaf” no shit, the guys 18 years old

  10. We must not forget the kid is only 22 years old. Players are at their best at 25-27 years old. That's still alot of hockey until prime.

  11. You lost me when you mentioned Tony Marinaro. His opinion on pretty much anything in hockey is generally lacking any credibility or understanding of the game. At best, he's a fantasy hockey nerd who's never played the game at any level of competition; at worst, he actively stirs the pot and turn a nothing burger into what he considers a Michelin star-worthy meal. All sizzle, no steak. Despite the generalized homerism and frequent desire to crap all over the team, there are many better options in Montreal media to use as a source of inspiration than a blowhard like Marinaro. The fact that he speaks with confidence doesn't mean he knows what he's talking about.

  12. His month or so with Goal and Suze really helped his confidence! Let's hope he can be a 2-3 with Beck there too!

  13. It wasnt chicago giving up on dach chicago was getting rid of anyone that could prevent them from tanking lol. It was obvious they were going to tank for bedard

  14. I knew Dach was something special ever since the play in Chi vs Edm, the way he was playing against McDavid was incredible for a rookie.

  15. i never trust a habs trade until the second year… everyone shines in their first years here and eats shit the next… see Toffoli

  16. At no point did I understand why the Blackhawks traded Dach. 21 years old is not usually the guys a rebuilding team trades away. You trade away guys like Kane or Toews, who are old and near the end of their career, but could still be of value to teams in contention. I guess the team had given up on him. Maybe he wasn't getting along with the coaches. Maybe he silently requested a trade. Maybe the GM had just finished an abnormally large joint when he made the deal. Idk. Doesn't make a lot of sense to me.

  17. Good to see, I think that wrist injury he had couple years back had something to do with his production in Chicago. They just kinda threw him back in there after his surgery and expect him to be 100%.

  18. I feel this move was to bolster the tank for the Chicago Blackhawks. With Dach I'm sure they would be closer to a Wild card spot with maybe 5 more wins. This was Strategy with like you said a lateral move with drafted Nazar.

  19. I honestly think Chicago drafted him based on stats and outside analytical consensus, as opposed to team fit, and held him to that expectation.
I watched Kirby play A ton his draft year in Sask. While he was never really that fast, flashy game-breaker you’d typically expect from a top 3 prospect, he had poise & NHL calibre awareness. Had he been taken later by a team who was patient enough to let him develop his pro game and fill out his 6’3” frame, he’d have never been considers a bust.
Glad he’s doing well in MTL.

  20. Kirby Dach was a great trade by Hughes. He looks better every game out but he is not Suzuki and won't ever be as good as Slick Nick

  21. I'll say this though, being a third overall pick is a lot of pressure… until you change team. Dach in Montreal doesn't have to play like the third best player of his class like he did in Chicago, because the Habs didn't give that much for him. As long as that 13th overall pick doesn't turn into a superstar, Habs fans and media will be more than happy if he's just a solid top 6 player. Some players thrive under pressure, but Dach seems to have a lot more fun with the lower expectations he has in Montreal, which ironically makes him actually better

  22. I think he is a complementary piece that can do well with the right players and not consistently.
You'll see flashes, perhaps even good seasons, but he won't be a driver.

  23. Dach and Slaf are going to have stellar careers (if they keep healthy). Two big guys with speed and skills, they are necessary to the Habs future. They may not be generational but looking at what Dach is doing and Slaf's potential to do the same, I get the feeling we will be on board for great things to come. Slaf is 18… guys, 18! He's fresh out of high school for God's sake. We got to be patient. Some pretty nice talent is coming such as Hudson, Mailloux, Roy, Kidney, Farrel, etc Having a Connor McDavid is nice but having a solid defence and real talent spread out over all the trios is to me more efficient. The other team can never lower their gard and at some point during the game they make a mistake, then a penalty, and then things start to go haywire.

  24. dach had a big problem in chicago deferring and not shooting the puck when he had a good chance, if he can fix that part of his game he can be great with the canadiens

  25. Im loving all of these young guys making the habs team.
I know St.Louie isnt the best in terms of coaching, but I do believe that anyone under his umbrella will take off in their carreer and find their niche, their place.

As long as Molson gives St.Louie time, and has faith in this new team, the habs will be one of the top teams in the league in the next 2-3 years. Everyone just needs to get settled into this new era and things will start taking off.

    Mark my words.
