Florida Panthers at St. Louis Blues – March 5, 1996 (Wayne Gretzky's first home game with St. Louis)



Wayne Gretzky plays his first game at Kiel Center with the Blues, as his longtime teammate Grant Fuhr stops all 25 Florida shots to help St. Louis to a 2-0 victory.

Brian Noonan tallies a goal and an assist for the Blues, while Mike Hudson adds the other St. Louis goal. Florida goalie Mark Fitzpatrick stops 23 of 25 shots but takes the loss in net.

The only fight of the game takes place in the first period between Florida’s Scott Mellanby and Blues forward Shayne Corson.
