Buffalo Sabres head coach Don Granato spoke to the media following the team’s 7-2 loss to the Calgary Flames at KeyBank Center. Topics include: returning to play after the All-Star break, coming out strong in the first period, not putting enough pucks on the net, trying to find ways to simplify the game, not being able to find a rhythm throughout the game, the physicality of the game, and more.

Sabres definitely need to figure out what their issues are at home. I for one would not be a happy camper going to constant blowouts at home. I know this team is young & their future is bright. If this is a trend at home the rest of this season the Sabres will not make the playoffs this season.
How about utilizing your time out Granato when they quickly tied it at 2 or even when they took the lead 3-2? Gather the troops and settle them down. I know you want the team to figure things out themselves but as coach you need to take control of the situation. You left them out to dry and YOU pretty much directly cost them the game because you didn't utillize a valuable tool you have.
Got puck luck early and then nothing after
🙄 Talking in circles for 8 minutes and didn’t say anything. But…I suppose there wasn’t much that could be said. Playoffs? 🤔 😂😂 too much partying during the break.
Just one step off, and 5 goals off
Love this guy and our team but we need to get back our mojo NOW to get to the playoffs!
Will never win with a coach that laughs about a 7-2 loss. He has no passion or drive. Perfect to coach in Buffalo!
If Granato was a confederate general at Gettysburg. he would say we weren't fresh and are ready to put this behind us and go forward.
They went up by 2 and figured they had a win. Then they decided to rest up or the road trip.
They need to figure things out defensively, how about play defense first, then transition off that? They have offense but game after game the defense/turnovers are horrendous.
