Great job boys👍 I think you could go on for hours analyzing who might be available and how they might be the best fit. And I’m glad you’re down on Beniers. Nolan Patrick 2.0
Good stuff guys. Keep the Red Wings content coming, love it and the Wingscast chat. 👍
Haha, also glad to see Chris shares the same thoughts as I do on Beniers, feel like this guy is the exact high floor, low ceiling guy we don't want to spend a 6 overall pick on, even if it is a mediocre at best draft class.
Last point, Josh has got the Gelinas pronounciation correct.
Jesper Wallstedt! All day every day! Best goalie prospect since Carey Price and we have NO ONE in the pipeline. People are going to hate it, but whatever. IMO that's the best pick.
"Barkov, a superstar known for his 2 way play? I doubt it." Literally just won the Selke…
We dont need a center?? So we'll just keep these 'old as time' guys in the top 6. I wouldnt exactly count on Fabbri to be heathy for a season or Ras to be in the mix. Larkin is barely a line 1 center. I agree with taking the best available, Eklund or Hughes, but these are some hot takes. Center is the only position besides goalie, with NO ONE in the pipeline for a top role.
My list would be Beniers, Eklund, Johnson, Hughes, Clarke, Guenther, McTavish, Wallstedt. If they are hellbent on Wallstedt we should trade back a couple picks. 23rd pick id like fyodor svechkov or Sebastian Cossa
You want high upside Lysell could probably have the highest ceiling in the draft. He's also an Yzerman type of player. Very competitive, good hockey IQ, Best Skating/Hands combo in the draft. Great vision and good shot. Constantly pushing pace, great defensively too, guy is like Marner and Point imo.. some scouts have them top 3, most have him at 8-14 ish, some idk how but in the 20's
The grumpy guy on the right doesnt know much about barkov. Dude is probably the best defensive forward in the league. He literally won the selke award this year for best defensive forward in the league lol
Good stuff guys, just one correction when talking about Lindros Philly/Quebec/Colorado saga… they never make the Forsberg trade, not Sakic. Forsberg was part of the Lindros trade from Philly to Quebec.
Don't worry guys we bucked the trend. Next year we get lucky and draft 1st overall in a superstar draft.
Also idk about Kent Johnson. He definitely has the talent, but his advanced metrics are weak on a team that was good. He will be a project, I see boom or bust here.
Kent Johnson misses Hockey IQ. He is not relevant at this rank. Beniers, Eklund, Clarke, Svechkov, Guenther and Edvinsson are in my top 6. I would understand if you were considering Wallstedt and Lysell as well.

Boys, turn up the volume please. It's hard to hear your whispers of a defeated Detroit fan 😂✌️

All I have to say is bring back Alfredson
