Markstrom was looking over his shoulder after every shot in the last 5min of the third. No feel for the puck.

This is getting to a point where it’s not even funny anymore

    It’s just sad

At this point making the decision to start Markstrom is the same as saying you really dont care if we win or not.

  4. On the positive side of things, we are in a wildcard spot this morning and got four out of the eight points on the post all-star game road trip. Our only regulation loss was the one right after Andersson got hit by a car.

Of course, Colorado has three games in hand, so that isn’t good.

Silver linings; My kids got to go to bed knowing Calgary was up 3-1.

If we win all those OT games, we’re top of the division

    Something needs to be done

I watched Daryl’s presser after the game and he was like “we dominated, great game for us.” He’s definitely been more headscratching this year.

We need some kind of shakeup. Probably a trade, but we have to do something. The team is still in a playoff spot, so if we can get some help down the stretch that will really go a long way.

Bless the flames for making sure I was heartbroken on valentines day 💔…what would I do without this ream

Honestly we need to ride vladar down the stretch and let Marky rest up, *if* we make the playoffs, we can see if a well rested and hopefully reset markstrom shows up. Keep him on a short leash and if he can’t get the job done pray that vladdy can, it’s unfair to put that burden on our backup but it’s all we can do at this point

  10. We really needed these “easy” points. That stretch of Colorado Vegas Boston is gonna sewer us.

Positives: like all skaters tonight, Dube and Toffoli are buzzing.

    Negatives: minutes 57 and onward

I’ve started hopping on the exercise bike for an hour or so while watching the games. I find it helps with games like these as I don’t tend to about them for too long afterwards. The worst outcome is a Flames loss with a good workout.

i got blessed with a power outage and didn’t get to watch the third period

I don’t understand Sutter’s strategy for overtime. He starts Tanev, Backlund and Lindholm – our three best DEFENSIVE players. Overtime 3 on 3 is not about defense, It’s about who can score the fastest. When are they gonna figure this out?

Markstrom is affecting my mental health. Sutter, stop playing him please, what the fuck.

Wolf has been putting up numbers not seen since Carey Price. The AHL is too easy for him, his development would be better suited to the NHL.

If there is any way we could dump Markstrom, having Vladar/Wolf tandem would be best for 2023 and the future.

Flames are a mid tier team. Unfortunately a lot of people don’t want to admit that Huberdeau isn’t really planning out and the loss of Gaudreau/Tkachuk put us way back.

Pairing that with not playing our goalie who hasn’t had any regulation losses in his last 15 games makes us an even worse team.

Huberdeau is the Darnell Nurse of offense…

God, in so glad my first ever in-person NHL game was the Buffalo game and not the Ottawa game. This team is so frustrating.

  18. Markstrom needs to keep his head in the game, focusing on slashing Tkachuk does absolutely nothing for us.

  19. bettycrockerinmybum

Well Minnesota also lost, so we are in the same position we were before the game.

The Flames played well, Markstrom needs to go.

Play like that again, with Vladar in net and you’ll get a result against Detroit

I was looking at capfriendly and we are looking to be the Dallas Stars 2.0 in about two years with two overpaid vets headlining the team (similar to Seguin and Benn). They sucked for a bit but they’re back in contention now. Maybe once Wolf is ready to come up he can be Oettinger 2.0?
