With Bally going bankrupt the NHL says they’re willing to step in and help fans watch their teams if need be. Where was this support the last 3 seasons for Colorado? Might this open the door to them doing something about the Altitude vs Comcast and Dish situation? Will the NHL actually be able to do anything useful for once?

They are “prepared to address”. Which means they are prepared to say “What a shame this is.”
The NHL has a whole lot more eggs in with Bally than altitude. It also includes much bigger markets (LA and Anaheim) and an original 6 team. It’s not surprising they care way more.

Well the thing is, I heard a wild rumor. They hate Kronke
Bally going bankrupt?! That’s really sad.. But, can we get Lauren Jbara back then?
In regards to what this means for Colorado, it’s important to remember that the league IS the owners — as a collective, they’re not there to cut the legs out from KSE’s position in the deadlock between them and any cable providers. They, sadly, don’t exist to advocate for fans’ convenience unless it also benefits the franchises en masse.
As far as the situation around Bally, if the bankruptcy were to disrupt the deals currently in place, I suspect the league would willing to step in to either help broker new deals or potentially relax some of the policies to allow the teams more flexibility in offering the games through other methods.
The bubble on regional sports networks has burst nationwide, and it’ll be really interesting to see how the leagues handle that. I’m curious if MLS’s deal with Apple will be a successful model for others to follow going forward.
Sure you will
Honestly doubt they will do anything for us if they haven’t already. It is nearly impossible to watch the Avs even in surrounding states due to blackout restrictions. Have to do VPN tricks which is just obnoxious.
Just let people watch the sport. The more people watching will lead to more people wanting to attend games. Blackouts are just bad for everyone.

Fuck you, Bettman.
Access is there.
Can anyone help explain what this means? I dumb.
I imagine if the Avalanche played in a larger market that this problem would have been solved by now.
