This makes so much sense, local kid, RHD, and we might have the quickest path to the show for him. This FO’s whole thing too is finding undrafted FAs and so far they’ve had some hits with Aman, Bains, and obviously Kuzmenko so hopefully they can snag him.

If Kuzmenko has taught me anything, it’s that all we have to do is sign the top non-NHL free agent every year and we’ll have a super team.

We are down to where we need warm bodies at RHD. A flyer on a late bloomer is smart for us, and for him it’s literally as open an avenue as exists to an NHL roster spot if he’s got what it takes.

Making promises to Kuzmenko, delivering on those promises, and having him succeed (with a new 5.5 million/per season contract can’t hurt when we try and recruit UFA’s).
Add in that he will get a really good opportunity to play aside QH, and put himself in a great position for his next contract if he holds up his end of the deal…it seems to be a no brainer.
