If he really did decline a 8×8 Detroit has to walk away. It would be funny if he got more than Stutzle or Thompson and so many younger stars who have more pts than him and are younger. 9 mil for Larkin would be a massive mistake he isn't that good

Is Larkin not a very overrated player at this point 9mil is so much for a guy with scoring really up these past couple years that can't even get above a point per game

9, hell even 8.5 is a lot. There are much younger guys that are better then him that have made less.
My prediction: 8×8.75. Yzerman isn't letting him walk. The team identity has been built around him for the past 7 years. He's got intangibles that make the extra mil worth it. Yzerman sees his younger self in Larkin, IMO.
If he's not traded at the deadline, he'll resign for whatever the Wings are offering him. He's also going to see in the offseason that no one is going to be able to afford him at $9M.
I'm surprised Stevie would play hardball with Dylan considering Stevie, as the franchise center for Detroit, never won a cup until he was 30. Also Detroit does not have great center depth, current or youth wise. Surely he's not hoping to nab his future franchise center in the draft

I would love Larkin in Tampa but we can’t afford him but I think Steve Yzerman will figure out a way to keep him

David Pagnotta already said that the two sides are nearing a deal, People need to stop making up BS on Larkin like they know the situation. Larkin isn't going anywhere he'll be resigned before the trade deadline in 13 days.
Trust the Yzerplan! Even if Larkin left in free agency I’m 100% trusting Stevie to use that free cap space to make us better.
