In the end, Doug came to Ryan and asked him what location he would ultimately like to end up at. Being an Ontario boy, the leafs weren’t a hard choice. Now we’ll never know if there were other comparable offers, but it is a nice showing of our GM, big dick Doug!

I think what’s impressive about this trade is that Army didn’t just do what was best for the player, he also got a massive haul in return. His ability to accommodate both needs at the same time is one of many things that separate the good GMs from the great ones.
