So happy for Mercer getting this good with his English.
Dawson Mercer is untouchable. Would rather go after Rico/depth then trade Mercer for Timo if SJ wont budge on the ask. Kid is gunna be Pickles 2.0 but much better. Love his game

Dare I say that the Devils are finally back in form? Shutdown defense, solid goaltending, depth scoring, against a division matchup and then a top team in the league.

Props to both of the Woods tonight, had Blackwood dead and buried after the first period but he kept his head in the game.
If he wasn’t already, Mercer is now in the Untouchable category of Devils trade assets. He does everything so well across the board and I’ve determined he is my new favorite Devil.
Also solid game by Blackwood after a rocky first period. Some big saves the rest of the way to keep the team within striking distance.
Great effort overall on a back to back weekend and looking real solid through most of the games!

Dawson Mercer is the second best player in the NHL
These lines look phenomenal right now. Mercer really injected some renewed life into that top line, Shango looks at home on Jack’s wing, and Z/Haula look great on the third line. Haula especially has looked great recently. Forechecks hard and sets up a lot of chances which he doesn’t get to do quite as much with Jack as Jack handles the puck.
I don’t ever want to hear another word about Mercer being traded.
If San Jose is dead set on Mercer for Meier they can fuck off.
If you don’t love Dawson Mercer, you should probably figure out what’s wrong with you.

I missed the first period which was obviously our worst but the other 2 we looked pretty fantastic. LGD!!

Even though the devils have been winning since the new year, I feel like their play has been sloppy.
The last two games have been really solid efforts with contributions from every line. This is the team we need to see going forward.
Tonight’s effort was especially impressive coming off a back to back against two solid teams

You can see the confidence beaming from Haula, Shango, and Merc. The new lines are fucking dope and paying dividends. Our stick checking and defense are on point. We’re in the goalie sweet-spot like the Broduer/Hedberg days.
If we get Timo, we’ll pass Carolina.

That was fun…The revamped lines seemed to have really infused some extra pop up and down the lineup. Mercer is just so fun to watch and he’s really starting to show how much up side he really has and he never stops fighting to make plays…Wish all of our forwards had as much hustle and drive on the D side as this kid shows each shift…Its exciting to see A Devils team looking like this in February all while still being such a young team and growing squad

This entire month, minus our one regulation loss against the Blues, has felt like we are getting better every game. It felt like we were incrementally improving our defensive play.
With yesterday’s game and today’s game, though, it feels like all those improvements have truly hit a new peak, and then we’ve had our offensive spark back too, and it feels like shades of October/November again.
I’m so excited to see us continue to get better, continue to never quit, and continue to have ourselves a helluva a fucking season.
You know this team is special. Beating Calgary, Edmonton, the Jets, the Blue Jackets – teams we couldn’t beat before, teams we had really bad losing records against. (Yeah we still haven’t solved Nashville and St. Louis, but we gotta be humbled somewhere.)

As a Devils fan that lives in Arizona, I am forced to use ESPN+ to watch the games. Does anyone else who uses this app have trouble with it? Tonight in particular was terrible. The audio was not synched with the video and then the playback failed with about 10 minutes left in the game. I miss the NHL app games. So much better and more reliable.

Just watched the highlights and wow that Dawson Mercer race against Cole Perfetti to the puck in front of the empty net was exhilarating. I would’ve been so hyped if I saw that in person at the game. Mercer just has so much hustle and never quits he really is becoming one of my favorites to watch on the team.
