[Chicago Blackhawks] Statement from Jonathan Toews

  1. Get well soon Toews. Otherwise Chicago has pretty much lost all hope of moving him and/or Kane and getting any good returns.

  2. Injured by the vaccine more likely. The spike protein from the vaccine has migrated throughout his body and that’s causing inflammation along with his immune system response. This is documented in Pfizer’s own data

Well there goes the little trade value he had

I hope both Kane and Toews play elsewhere next season and go on to further extend their amazing HOF careers.

The Blackhawks don’t deserve anything in return and hope they get stuck with Fantelli next season and he busts.

  5. I feel for Jonathan Toews. I suffer from long term Covid also. I have three doctors at UC Irvine helping me and other people get back to normal.

It’s not a easy road. And the recovery is difficult due to lack of information and science regarding it. I hope he gets well soon like the rest of us are trying to.

What do you guys think is going to happen with him? Will they try to sign him for one year to be able to try and sell him next year? Or is that too unrealistic with his situation?

I’ve always liked Toews, he’s a great player and leader. It reminds me of Hossa. Hossa probably had another 3 or so great years left but had to retire due to medical consequences. Hopefully he gets better, or worst, gets into a FO somewhere because he would be an asset to any team. Good luck Capt. Serious.

I really admire how much support he is getting. It’s only been in the last few years that professional athletes have been allowed to be open and vulnerable about their physical and mental health. I’ve never been a Chicago fan, but this guy has my full support men need to be able to talk about this sort of thing without being dismissed as weak. I still remember how much crap Eric Lindros went through because of his concussions, and I’d like to think that if he was playing now, he would be given proper support from the NHL, his team, and fans. We’ve come a long way as a society.

“I know Blackhawks Managment is as shady as they come so I just wanted to get this out there so they don’t trade me, piss off an organization and their fan base and tarnish my legacy”.

  10. burningxmaslogs

Dude ain’t getting traded any time soon..

  11. mymothershorse

Damn, if only that “vaccine” worked.

Wish all the best to an absolute legend. Wish I had appreciated his talents more in his prime.

  13. Tampa Native Bolts fan living in south Chicagoland. just want show respect in case he glances this way, and to all the hawks fans-

Get well Cap’n. Your drive and class are missed on the ice.

  14. Tako-Jerome

That’s a shame. How he comes back and hopefully gets another run at a cup with someone.

  15. Barrage of responses from anti-vaxxers who think COVID doesn’t affect elite athletes in 5…4…3…2…1…

Man talk about a great person he truly is a class act being from Chicago and having him as our captain it has been an amazing ride he’s very humble as well I can’t say enough good things about him.

CIRS isn’t a real pathologically known disease. It is simply a collection of symptoms that doctors can’t figure out and have named (like fibromyalgia and chronic fatigue syndrome). It could be a misdiagnosis or they could simply just not yet understand the pathology or the patient is a hypochondriac and the doctor thinks they’ll do better with a label.

  18. captain_catman_

Not a Hawks fan but I am rooting for him. I am praying he can fully recover. I know it is not easy to step away from the game so it is very brave to make this decision. No doubt he will be a dangerous player when he’s back to full strength

  19. Dreadrazorbeast

Guys made 119m in his career. With his contract ending it’s probably best to just hang em up and call it a career. He’ll prob go to the Hall of Fame with 3 cups and pretty solid numbers.

I remember back in 99 when abc 7s Mark Giangreco made fun of Walter Payton for looking “shriveled.” Eventually, we found out Walter had the liver disease. So I don’t blame Toews for being ahead. Sometimes, the media will eat you alive without knowing what’s happening behind the scenes.

If a coach wants to discipline a player, he benches them. Take away their ice time is the worst thing for them. If they do it themselves, it’s something bad

  22. RudenSexy

Jesus now nobody will want to trade for him 😪
