  1. These aren’t guys we wanted in the regular season, these are playoff guys. Team got slower but it also got grittier. Something y’all wanted forever. Noel leads the team in hits now. Perry ain’t bullying Ryan 😂😂😂

  2. The Leafs are better off now, the trade was worth it, you nay sayer's kipper and Sam need to chill out a bit. Couple of negative Nellie's. Damn.

  3. it's never too high of a price tag if he's your guy, you go and get him. there's a famous saying… fortune favors the bold. fwiw "hat-trick" kane has more goals and points the last two games than both tarasenko and ror have for their new teams combined.

  4. Why is this guy saying a 27-30 pick doesnt matter in the deepest draft in decades? Theres literally 70-80 FORWARDS that are NHL prospects in this draft. This trade was horrible.

  5. Conn Smythe, Stanley Cup champion, Selke. These players don’t grow on trees, he knows how to win. I guarantee Boston or Tampa would have done the same and no one would bat an eye

  6. If they win, anything is worth it; but it is a few years after the OReilly magic worked…but these guys never be-lief

  7. you guys are honestly brutal, no wonder no insiders will talk to you, after all this time you’ve regressed into children

  8. Leafs could have gotten Chychrun and Mieir for a first round pick and a third and you would not be happy.

  9. They paid what was required. Look at that retention. Look at the legal circumvention. Keeping knies. Retaining the ENTIRE ROSTER! This was a masterclass. This move exceeds anything Dubas has done TO DATE. This is his hail Mary. Only time will tell if it was too much, but right now, it was undeniably a win win

  10. Toronto deserves Dubas, between the little whiner Marner and the big baby Mathews Keefe and Dubas fit right in ,we can only imagine what it would look like if Marner was not protected by the Reffs and if Mathews grew a set of stones. Toronto is a hot mess, its just Dubas and Keefe playing the Shell game as a Team working the crowd. Edmonton had to get rid of Dellow/Eakins to heal from the advanced stats attacks as they tried to force themselves upon the NHL ,now Toronto must rid itself of that very same negative regressive influence or they will continue to underperform.

  11. I didn't even think crazy expensive. Late round first, then 2nd, 3rd and 4th. Those picks aren't even high likelihood to hit. ORielly is a playoff stud. You are giving up unknowns of not even high value assets to get a known guy who can help.

I'll be critical of Dubas at times, this is a great deal for Leafs in my opinion. Not because I think they ripped off Blues at all, I think they paid reasonable price for type of guy they need.

    That's a good deal.

  12. I would go so far as to trading Reilly. Get 2 more defensive minded dmen and Leafs go far.
    Look at the Bruins.

  13. I still say Marner and Mathiews being greedy are causing the price jump via trade, I mean Leafs have to add much more in picks to make other teams hold back some money. If they had a little more wiggle space they would not have to add so much to fit in the cap. Greedy…they never achieved nothing, yet held the team hostage.

  14. someone is drunk, someone is still in concussion protocol, and a nobody vegetable
    producer

  15. Why is everyone so upset about trading draft picks there are at least half a dozen 1st round players on waivers or have already been dropped from the league aa draft pick is a guess not many are right

  16. 3 picks for a very brief rental who is on one of his worst seasons ever and most likely not even score that many goals or win that many games in the playoffs with him? No it sounds about right for a joke of a franchise like you, look at your team destroying signings for players who all disappear in the playoffs when the games get real.

  17. They got ripped off big time. St Louis done really well in this trade

  18. Wouldn't be shocked the Leafs bring back James Reimer. All this team needed last year was consistency in goal. Murray has a high chance of getting injured again; then what will Dubas do? Trust Samsonov with your job? They need two experienced goalies for the playoffs.

  19. Fair price for TML as a contending team that HAS TO get past the first round this year. Win now mode means being willing to overpay for the right players.

I am a Leafs hater normally but I really want them to succeed this year, hopefully they can pick up some more quality depth and role players to go on a run!

  20. The Leafs have always been close to going deep in the playoffs. They can add good players each time but without real heart and killer instinct they will fail. This acquisition is promising. They showed stronger will against Tampa last year than the year previous against Montreal but they must summon a fierceness from their psyches if they want to go deep into the playoffs and ultimately challenge for the Stanley Cup.

  21. No disrespect but Ryan O’Reilly is too slow and past his prime, that’s why St. Louis let him go. He’s a 3rd line centre at best, he doesn’t belong on the 2nd line with Marner and Tavares.

  22. A 27th overall this year, is a top 10 pick next year. This years draft is bonkers. You could even say the 2nd rounder this year is a 1st rounder next year.

  23. first game they win, EVERYONE talking about how brilliant the move was. Next game, they lose, media is all over Dubas. No wonder nobody wants to play in Toronto.
