SJ Sharks WANT Dawson Mercer From the NJ Devils As Part Of Timo Meier Trade!

In this video I discuss Rumors from a tweet that said the San Jose Sharks WANT Dawson Mercer From the New Jersey Devils As Part Of Timo Meier Trade.
Dawson Mercer as of late has been playing exceptionally well scoring goals in consecutive games and putting up points that would be better than his totals from last year. Does Tom Fitzgerald include him in a deal to get one of the most sought after star forwards leading into this NHL Trade Deadline.
In this video, I go over the benefits of keeping Mercer as part of the NJ Devils future and not including him in this trade and go over possibilities of what it might take to acquire Meier from the Sharks.

  1. The only untouchable prospects to me are Hughes and Nemec. If he takes that said next step, we're gonna have to pay him, which is gonna be tough.

  2. Trade Mercer + Holtz + a first rounder + Bahl + all that money on a long term contract ? No F way. Fitzgerald wants the last word because he wants to low ball Meier or shave the offer as razor thin as possible. I also don't want to lose Bratt. When we paid 102 million for Kovalchuk he already had 2 seasons with over 50 goals and 3 seasons with over 40. He was franchise material and it paid off. Meier is not that kind of offensive powerhouse like Kane or McDavid or Ovechkin.

  3. Devils fans are so completely gay for Meier but as I've said from the beginning: THE ASKING PRICE IS TOO HIGH!!!
Get someone like Brock Boeser for less. Offense really isn't the issue. Defense is. And Mercer is looking like a core player.

  4. Then no way to this deal. We can sign Timo for no prospects or picks this summer

  5. I get that the Devils and Devils fans would rather trade Holtz over Mercer but the Sharks are giving up a massive asset. I really don’t think Holtz and a first is enough to get it done.

  6. I now think St. Louis will acquire Timo Meier. If the Devils do acquire a top 6 forward, then I predict that it will be Brock Boeser.

  7. We have plenty of players that we can trade away before Mercer. Sharangovich, Tatar, Severson, Casey, etc. Mercer is so young, and he's already our 2nd coming of Blake Coleman. Imagine how good he could be at his peak. Mercer has more longevity than a 27 year old Meier. Keep Mercer at all costs. If the Sharks pull out of Meier talks, trade for Puljujarvi instead. We need more power forwards anyway.

  8. If they want to try and force our hand then just offer up better prospects/more picks. Mercer is a non starter tbh, not as physical but he will be just as good as Meier IMO, arguably better when he hits his prime.

  9. I’m a Devils fan and no way should we trade Dawson Mercer!! We have a great year going and Timo will be a free agent next year. I say the Devils stand pat and go for the trophy next year!!

  10. I've been saying since last year that Mercer could easily develop into a Brayden Point. I'm not sure if I would call Dawson untouchable but if not he's as close to it as you can be.

  11. Curious to hear from those that want to keep Dawson Mercer. Would you rather keep Mercer but trade Nemec to get Meier, or just walk away altogether?

  12. Let that idiot Greir lose out and have to settle for picks from St Louis. Don't even want Timo at that price. I'd be stoked with two smaller moves, like Rico and Josh Anderson.

  13. Rumors are the St. Louis Blues are interested in Timo Meier hope they get him he would really help them going forward they need a proven 30 goal scorer.
