  1. This was the first dud of a game in a while. They played a great game against Winnipeg – Hellebuyck just wasn’t letting anything in. Tonight they looked flat and disjointed.

  2. mbsmilford

I hope Trouba doesn’t have to have another helmet throwing incident.

  3. Humanaut93

Looking at the amount of hate we’re receiving in the r/hockey game thread, I’m starting to feel like we’re a contender

  4. Sjdillon10

Can the devils stop tying or winning game with under a minute left

  5. Neans888

We were 30 seconds away from not losing any ground on the Devils. Fuck the Kings

  6. jthomas694

I understand Red Wings fans being upset at some of those calls and at Lindgren in general – but trying to claim Rasmussen charging Panarin was a clean hit is the dumbest thing I’ve seen in a while.

Lindgren probably should have gotten a major for that cross check. I’m not going to argue there but there are some braindead takes on that Rasmussen charge and he went after Panarin intentionally

  7. pizza_nightmare

Sooooo what can we get for Tarasenko at the deadline?

  8. gleyberhood25

I’m looking forward to the trade deadline being behind us. It’s distracting me

  9. PhillyJ739

Jesus some of y’all are insufferable. I didn’t even watch, but suggesting we dump Tarasenko already? LOL this shit is rich

I know losing is frustrating, but not every night is gonna be perfect. We aren’t the Bruins

It has been the same issue for the last 3 or 4 games.

It is not really a big deal, just shows our need for some defensive minded players to help out on the bottom 6.

The kids are struggling and it is showing. Chytil, Laf, and Kakko are all a -3 in even strength goal differential over the last 4 games. And I didn’t see anything different tonight. They have to get tougher and show more grit. I think Lafreniere is the one exception. He tries, he is not always successful, but I can see he cares.

That 3rd goal was either on him or Tarasenko. I lean towards Tarasenko, but I know I am biased because Tarasenko simply stopped skating. But I do think it was Lafreniere’s man that scores there.

But ultimately they are kids and this is should be expected from them over a 82 game season. There are going to be rough patches. Right now it is the kids.

Turnovers were a huge problem this game. And as per usual, I think there were quite a few times they should’ve shot the puck. I will give it to Detroit for blocking a ton.

  12. samydees

Too bad we didn’t score 8 goals this time. I prefer when we score 8 goals.

But I’m glad nobody got hit by an octopus.

  13. JokinHghar

Too bad Chytil didn’t score. Could have been a Filip Flipout

  14. Main_Paramedic_2822

If we scored 3 goals and still lost – sure let’s blame the defense… but the truth is they all played poorly. Not winning with 1 goal regardless of the defense killing it or not.

I really hope this is just trade deadline anxiety and not something deeper.

  15. Ketachloride

probably not the time or place but that BOO! YAY! thing wings fans do with their Jumbotron and the little kid is really endearing. haha

  16. Woof that was a rough one. Chemistry feels off.

  17. I could be wrong but I don’t think we’ve held a lead during the game since playing in Vancouver. Stellar.

  18. Envelopen

Wait do we have a single shut out this season?

  19. Key-Tip-7521

After everyone turned into Randy Marsh when he “saw a ghost” about Kane, you still want him after that gong show? Vally said it right in the postgame. The Rangers looked distracted. A possibly locker room shake up. Can’t believe he’s forcing himself to the team. That is IF it happens. Drury making the hockey media happy for doing this. Not cool Drury. Do what’s best for the team, not the media.

Now, tonight’s game, WHAT THE F WAS THAT?!!!!! 4 GOALS IN 3 GAMES! THIS IS HOCKEY?! YOUR ACTUALLY PAYING TO WATCH THIS?! Defensively, was AW FUL. Bad back checking as what Turk said. Motte turning the puck over outside of their zone led to goal. WTF YO! Defensively that was pure GAH BAGE. Getting Hellebuyck’d on Monday I was like, “whatever, Hellebuyck is an elite goalie.” But tonight, the Rangers made Husso look like Terry Sawchuck. The cycling of the puck was good. Good for once again, a skills competition. Power Play looked bad, some offensive zone entries looked bad (Nice goal by Trocheck) but overall tonight, the Rangers were bad. Except for Trocheck, and Laf(nice for standing up for your teammates kid). Left Halak out to dry.

Playing this bad defensively. Can’t do this. Yes get it over with now. But you cant do this. Not during the final stretch of the regular season, and DEFINITELY NOT during the PLAYOFFS. Can’t play run and gun offense in the playoffs (although you can, but that’s a recipe for disaster). Still starting 7 dmen (I know that was done bts) when you need production. Ew.

Turk was right tonight. Didn’t play a full 60-minute game. Also cant be dropping points like this. Just can’t. Not now. This team better WAKE THE F UP (proceeds to flip a table). Or else some team could jump them.

Rant over. Onto the Caps on Saturday. I believe this is a must win for the Rangers. Onto the Caps.

  20. Pathetic effort. Tried to make the same type of passes and plays that didn’t work all game. Wings played great defense and we simply got blown out.

Motte trade was a complete waste. For a guy who was supposed to be reliable and defensively minded was anything but. I don’t remember Gauthier making boneheaded plays that cost us.

Tarasenko basically carried over his subpar play this year. He doesn’t look impressive and won’t be a difference maker.

The entire front office needs to get blown up. GG is way too incompetent and we are losing to less talented teams that play as a cohesive unit. Drury has made so many head scratching moves.

    This whole front office

This place really turned into StupidTown immediately after the win streak.

  22. avidowl81

The New York Rangers need a nap.
I know they’re playing Washington on Saturday. It’s a big game and they need to practice but honestly if I’m the coach I would give them the day off

  23. spotlitekid

We are being out-goalied every game. Very different than last year.

  24. Just be glad you didn’t pay to watch this game. I hated every second of this one. The team has a lot to work on over the next couple of weeks. Giving up four goals per game is unacceptable, but I have faith that this is just a rough patch we can put behind us.

  25. Tommybrady20

For everyone’s sanity, thank goodness that wasn’t Igor in net.

He’d be so hard on himself and reality is prime Patrick Roy wasn’t winning tonight with us in front of him

  26. BasicLiftingService

This was especially frustrating because it reminded me of Nov/Dec when the team was losing because of effort. In Winnipeg they were the better team for 60 minutes and lost and I was never upset. Tonight was something different.

Tonight NYR came into the game feeling entitled to the win. DET came in like forecheck, backcheck, paycheck.

  27. Caroline0330

Maybe this is karma for that one time I stayed over at a guy friend’s house and he gave me a Red Wings shirt to sleep in.

  28. Maleficent-Comfort-2

As a wise man once said “My disappointment is immeasurable. My day is ruined”.

  29. dcgirl98

Definitely frustrating but they had a lot going on- readjusting from the recent travel then add in Kane-watch / speculation. It’s no wonder they are off their game. They (and us) will be so glad once the deadline passes. Now I wouldn’t mind a Trouba helmet throw since that was awesome but I hope they just forget this and focus on the Caps.

  30. jaypeedee1025

it’s 2 straight game without a point not the end of the world after they went how many straight with a point. They locked in there playoff spot with that run and it seems more and more likely they play the Devils it’s just a question of who is gonna get home ice

  31. Zombie_Jesus_83

If this kind of funk is going to happen, I’d rather it happen now than at the end of March/beginning of April.
