Andrew Mangiapane's Deflection Ties It For Flames After Replay Rules Out Kick Goal

Watch as Calgary Flames forward Andrew Mangiapane ties it up with the New York Rangers in curious fashion, as the puck deflects off of his skate past Jaroslav Halak, but is ruled by the Situation Room not to be a kick goal.

  1. Probably what happened was the situation room knows that calagary needs these unclear calls because they need to make the playoffs to drive viewers and tickets. Clearly was no goal, but I understand why they did that.

  2. What a terrible, terrible call. Almost changed the outcome of the game, glad the rangers stuck with it though. On the bright side, this could be a highlight in Steve’s dang its, so there’s that.

  3. Wow. That was the perfect game. Flames get bullied physically and even gifted a goal that even their fans were saying was a no-goal and still lose. Huberdeau a ghost. Lucic can't even stand up for himself. Markstrom lets in 5 despite playing an okay game so flames fans will continue to tear him apart. An all around good night.

  4. Crazy part is you see his skate go out of his way to get to the puck, shameful how bad the nhl rulings have become.

  5. Honestly, let kicks count as goals or don't let deflections count. This vague sense of if they moved the foot forward leaves so much to the discretion of the referee, and we know how that's gonna go.

  6. Was at the game and that was kicked in with a kicking motion. I’m sick of nhl screwing the Rangers!!! It’s a joke !!’

  7. Another example of the NHL making a call for TV. Ties the game AND controversial? That'll get you fans in Florida and Arizona

  8. To me it looks more of "pushing" the puck. His blade never leaves the ice and he's not changing angles.

  9. This rule is garbage and needs to be scrapped and go back to the old rule. And this was the definition of a "motion towards the net" and the refs still screw it up. Get this garbage out of the NHL
