The Pittsburgh Penguins finished their road trip Saturday night at the Florida Panthers. The game started slow but picked up pace as it went on. The 1st period was a relatively quiet one. Both teams had powerplay chances but did not convert. With 22 seconds left in the period, Panthers struck first, ending the period 1-0 for Florida. With five minutes gone in the 2nd period, the Panthers scored on a powerplay giving them a 2-0 lead. Minutes later the Penguins had a 5v3 powerplay opportunity. Kris Letang hammered home a one-timer from Jake Guentzel to cut the panther lead in half. After the Penguins’ goal, the pace of the game picked up! A lot of back-and-forth play followed by some big hits being thrown. But just like the end of the 1st period, Panthers scored with 10 seconds left, ending the 2nd with a score of 3-1. Halfway through the 3rd, the Panthers found the back of the net again extending their lead to 4-1. The rest of the third period was a very physical one for both teams. Panthers took home the victory.

Worst reffing I’ve seen in awhile…that 3rd period was absolutely brutal.

Had the grit later but unfortunately a start too slow for us. Letang just keeps facing burden over burden and still proves strong. Alright night for DeSmith despite the amount of goals. Welcome back Bonino. Lets see the Pens explode in their igloos against the Jackets.

Well you learn something every game, boys and girls. Apparently, a stick smack to the testes isn't intent to injure. Just a 2 minute minor. That would change my tactics in a game. 😆
Refs were blind. Pens need to work on defensive turnovers bad. That’s what’s losing them games right now.

Hextall needs to go. Period. NO DEFENSE! I'm sick of seeing the front office waste and waste and waste a good team. This team doesn't deserve to make the playoffs. And if they do, It will be ANOTHER embarrassing one and done. I'm sick of it. The last 4 years have been a tribute of how to make a good team bad.

What has happened? Pens were playing some good hockey earlier in the season but they look out of ideas. Maybe those letang and malkin extensions where a mistake, the ‘superstars’ just ain’t gettin it done.
