The NYI have definitely trapped more in the neutral zone and boxed out better, no doubt. Won't mean a thing should they win The Toilet Bowl and make the playoffs, but hey lol – They really need to put Dobson with Pelech, that's who he should be paired with. Romanov and Pulock should stay a pairing, as well. If they ever brought up Bolduc again, they could pair him with Mayfield, and it probably would work well enough
Bo Horvat has changed this team in a huge way. He's not the only cog in the machine, but he's certainly provided the grease.
In the last 5 years, when Pollock and Pelech are in the line up together, the Islanders have been a playoff caliber hockey team.

I’m shocked but happy. Still disappointed nothing was done on the third. Personally I think this is the last chance with this line up. They have to do something next season with age and lack of scoring an issue
Playing without Barzal and Pageau gave the team to refocus. Adding Horvat has been a tremendous addition.
They have been playing better, but I have 2 big worries. Barzal and Lane. If Barzal hits the ice soon, and stays healthy, we'll make the PO. Lane is messing with defensive pairings when they should have been settled months ago. He seems to have fallen into a pattern of making wholesale changes rather than a simpler 2 player tune-up. One nice thing to see was the adjustments in the 3rd. Everyone was moving their feet and were engaged for the entire shift. It was good to see.
