Has Kyle given an explanation yet as to why they dumped Sandin? This trade made absolutely no sense. If that 1st was flipped for a bigger fish then I get it but to just trade away one of our most hopeful prospects for seemingly no reason was a bizarre move.

Sandin should do better in Washington than he would do in Toronto the next few years. There’s no pressure on him in Washington. He can just go out and play. And it doesn’t hurt having Ovi standing to your left on the power-play for the one timer. That pairing should work well once they get to know each other better.
I’m not sure how much faith Keefe would have in Sandin going into these upcoming playoffs, especially in the D zone. Whatever we happen to think of the player doesn’t matter. What the coach thinks of him is the bottom line. We can argue about it till the cows come home but it won’t change a thing.
