I was watching this live, and part of me wished Mess would be like “be quiet son, real hockey players are talking here.”

Screw, Subban. Such an arrogant asshole.

  2. GobertoBobongo

Mark Messier still teaches clinics on how to be a f•cking piece of sh•t. Messier 101.

Fuck Messier. Sh*ttiest teammate and captain.

It’s me, but I just don’t like Messier as an analyst. He’s just so boring. I mean Biz is a total a$$, but he’s an entertaining a$$.

    Again, it’s me.

Is there a clip of this?

I wasn’t able to watch that game.

That was such a hilarious segment.

Both were being absolutely ridiculous and entrenched in bias – Messier in favor of the Rangers and Subban against the Rangers. That play was borderline – it could have gone either way. Didn’t look like there was intent on Oshie’s part, and Oshie immediately answered the bell for a fight. You could have called boarding or roughing but you also could decide no penalty. Either outcome was fine. Messier’s comment about never putting himself in that position was hilarious too.

What really pissed me off was Kuznetsov only getting 2 minutes for his obviously intentional nut shot on Chytil

The entire ESPN broadcasting team for hockey is just terrible lol. On the Subban thing, he’s one of the big reasons I stay away from r/hockey cause they absolutely slob on bros meat over there it’s pathetic

  7. No_Designer_5374

“Nice bling, but I prefer rings.” 🙂

  8. r/hockey was all like “yeah PK! Messier can’t even put thought together, he sucks!”

  9. defigravity42

You can just see the disdain he has for Subban.

  10. “And Messier knows about dirty hits!” – Doug Gilmour & Mike Modano

  11. Lucifers_Goldfish

This segment I think my eyes rolled all the way back. This was the equivalent of Ron Swanson saying “Son! Do you own a pair of scissors in your home?!” PK literally priced himself out of the league and ruined his own playing reputation and now he’s just one step below Biz on the commentary level.

  12. ice_nyne

Also cause Mess has delivered a few dirty hits and borderline dirty hits himself during his storied career. Wasn’t nicknamed “Moose” in Edmonton for nothing…

  13. Sjdillon10

I think the funniest part is that the next game They weren’t sitting next to each other anymore

  14. ParkingLotLizard

I got perma banned from /r/hockey for expressing my disdain for Subban

  15. Stonewall30nyr

Let’s be real, nobody really cares what this fuckin dirty moron has to say, we all know he’s there because he’s black and they think it’ll attract a bigger black audience, but most black guys ik that watch hockey hate him too lol

Been a Rangers fan since I came outta the womb and also a Subaan hater for 15 years or more but I’m sorry, he wasn’t wrong about this one. Do we really wanna start going down the NFL rabbit hole? Even MLB? Changing EVERYTHING about a great game? That was a hard but clean hit. I’m sure even Lind would tell you that. Goodrow knew it was when he fought Oshie after that. He was really throwing lollipop fists and even tapped Oshie after and said like nice job. He was going through the motions for his teammate and that’s respectable. Maybe next you’ll be applauding when fighting is completely outlawed in the NHL too? The NHL is the ONE game that’s largely stayed the same in my 30 some odd year lifetime beside the SPEED of the athletes and maybe crashing the net is a little more strict. Can’t we just leave it alone?! I love Mess and anything else he ever says is like music to the ears but I just think he’s being a little short sighted here. We all know a DIRTY hit when we see it and they rarely happen anymore. This was something we shouldn’t be talking about. Or arguing about. PK Subaan is who he is and yes he was a dirty player sometimes but a hard nosed hockey player or any sport I respect as a fan. I feel we’ve been programmed as fans to not like the rough stuff anymore. Even when Utley slid into Tejada in the Mets pennant win in 2015 and the new rule that formed I wasn’t crazy over. Utley was a Philly for YEARS and I never respected many other ball players the way they played the game harddd and hustled. Then we complain about guys being greedy in contracts and lazy or injured constantly. We can’t pick both guys. Btw it seems like there’s more injuries in modern day sports with the more $$$ and more RULES then there was even 15 let alone 30 years ago.

You think Mess isn’t narcissistic? The guy is known to big time everyone and walks around like the god. He was worshipped in NY ofc he’s like that. What you mean is he’s an old man and not a PK level personality.

He also cheap shotted plenty I’m sure. Rose colored glasses.

  18. ManyFun7360

Some of Subbans takes are so out there! Almost like he purposely takes the opposite side of messier just to create an argument.

  19. MH566220

The only words from his mouth should have been “I’m sorry Mr. Messier… I’ll stay quiet now.”.
