Jack Johnson vs Stanley Ketchell. Oct. 16, 1909. Mission Street Arena, Colma, California, United States.
There is a rather complex background to this video so the quicker movements in the gloves are heavily artifacted however the movement is far smoother from the original 16fps that it was filmes in.
Due to another copyright claim in the KO the video has to run ads…

Great video, I think this was one of the fights where it was rumored that Johnson carried Ketchel through the rounds up until he of course dropped Johnson straight after Johnson got him out of there .
Johnson looks blazing fast in this film. Frankly, his hand speed looks comparable to Roy Jones -but it's hard to be sure whether or to what extent that's an illusion created by the frame rate and film quality.
Ketchel had some balls, fighting a man 50 pounds above his weight against a guy who is as skilled as jack. No complaints no catchweight just balls of steel.
https://youtu.be/pEma_vTDvfU smooth think you can work magic on this fight ?
Johnson Willard would be amazing as it showcases Johnson's most aggressive offensive outputs caught on film ..
Johnson looks in superb condition here and was obviously toying with Ketchel
Wow, is that ever some cleaned-up footage!
Fun fact:
It may be hard to spot at first, but if you pay close attention, you’ll notice that Jack Johnson is using an American flag as a sash around his trunks.
