The long overdue rebuild in Philly has officially begun with the firing of GM Fletcher—I can definitely see all the mentioned players being moved as part of the rebuild process–new faces, going thru new paces is what's needed in Philly–waiting for the vote of confidence in Coach Torts from Interim GM Briere .

I’m older than you. When I watched hockey back in the day, if you hit any of the other teams stars you were getting your butt stomped if you couldn’t back it up. Look at Gretzky and all the rest. All protected. Teams don’t protect there best players enough any more
I think Hayes would be good on a team wher hes a teams top 4 player .. Not top 2 like in Philly … Hart goes to a winner and he will win a couple Vezinas l think … Provy is a complete bust , but hope we can get atleast a 3rd or 4th rounder for him

Good to hear. The Flyers still need a goalie as they always seem to. Doing it right in the age of the salary cap takes time. It's not just the team you put on the ice game in and game out but a complete organisational rebuild starting with the minor league system. To me you have to draft smart and make key signings while keeping the interest of the fans. Not an easy task at all. Yzerman in Detroit is using this method and it's working for them. The same method he used to make the Lightning into a powerhouse year in and year out when he was GM there is the one that produces a core group and leaves you with the ability to trade and draft intelligently He did begin theGM job there with a couple of young budding superstars in Stamkos and Hedman to be sure but the rest of what he did there was the main reason that they won 2 cups (almost 3) in a row. That's the method I would prefer to see with the Flyers but it requires patience on the part of the fanbase. Do Philly fans have that ability to gradually improve?
