On Tuesday night, The Pittsburgh Penguins matched up against the Montreal Canadiens for the third time this season. Jake Guentzel started off the game quickly with a goal only 21 seconds in. Bryan Rust drove the puck to the net on a wrap-around. The rebound popped out front and Guentzel hammered it home. Only minutes later, Evgeni Malkin on the powerplay helped add to the Penguin’s lead. His one-timer from the top of the circle flew past the Montreal goaltender with ease. The Canadiens had an answer to the Penguin’s hot start. They scored four goals throughout the rest of the period, including one with 11 seconds remaining on the clock. The 1st ended with a score of 4-2 in favor of Montreal. In the 2nd period, the Penguins started to put the pressure back on the Canadiens. Working the puck around their offensive zone, Kris Letang took a shot on net from the point that went clean into the net, cutting the Canadien’s lead to one. Near the end of the period, Guentzel got his second goal of the night, this time on the powerplay, tipping a shot from Malkin. The 2nd period ended tied at 4-4. Early in the 3rd, Montreal took the lead back going up by a goal. The score remained 5-4 until late in the 3rd when Montreal got the empty net to secure the victory 6-4.

Oof 😐 well Penguins could u do us fans a favor and win on Thursday? 🐧🐧🐧🐧🐧🐧
He deserves it he’s getting really good
We really be careful with jarry he wants six million I heard in his camp keep things for thought never won a playoffs series gets hurt a lot has struggle in playoffs and this season we should have traded him get something but now he might walk for nothing and think about would you pay jarry six million
This could've definitely been a win save for Jarry's unfortunate struggles in the net. Otherwise we played fantastic and good on DeSmith for only letting one creep by. Not a team we should lose against if we played well as we did tonight. Take the inflated score and goaltender and throw it away and maintain that aggressive offensive pressure as we face the Rangers in what is sure to be two more playoff-style games.
Typical. Play down to terrible teams.
6 goals in 20 shots, we need a better goalie in the worst way.
Need a starting goalie
I was at this game, what an exiting experience, GO HABS GO!
Neither of these 2 goalies could win a 7 game series…hoping John Gibson can become a Pen in the offseason & give them a chance next year….
GO PENGUINS fire hextall and maybe we need better defense
I was there
Send Jarry down to Scranton, put the best beer leaguer in Pittsburgh in net and they win this one.
Goaltending and defense blew it, we would’ve won if not for that terrible 1st period
4 GOALS IN 6 SHOTS???
Face it, unless we can consistently score 6-7 goals a night, we aren't gonna win.
Not good when you outshoot your opponent 2-1 almost every game and still don't win….
Guentzel gets his 400th career point milestone. Danton Heinen plays his 400th career NHL game.
Да уж, вратари сделали всё могли, а могли они сегодня немного. Ужасная игра от воротчиков.
omg..
I felt we were going to lose 💔🐧
Jarry is not good.
Letang sure does love his fancy, long distance passing. His stretch passes get picked half the time and it cost them tonight when Malkin was skating feet away wide open and for ZERO reason you decide to try and force one and blow the opportunity to tie the game. Love ya Tanger , but I'm frustrated!
Jarry, domo, and P.O. need to go.
Habs forever! The class of the NHL.
The score at the end was wrong it said 4-5 the score it should have been was 4-6
Unfortunately, Penguins will not make the playoff….
Don’t know what to say about Jarry
