From a hockey standpoint this doesn’t effect me. I’m not in the Canes blackout zone so I get everything on ESPN+ unless they’re playing Columbus or Nashville.

From a Pacers fan standpoint hopefully this means I may get a chance to finally watch games legally in my area.

As of right now, quite literally 2/3 (or more) of the NHL is either without an RSN or going to be. Bally covers right at half the league alone, and AT&T sportsnet (pens, vegas, Seattle) is getting out of the RSN game too.

MLB’s solution is to make some teams’ games free, at least until they can sort out an RSN deal (or an alternative). No clue what the NHL and NBA plan on doing though.

It is fortunate but the broadcast will not be affected at least not in the near future. They filed chapter 11, a reorg. They are not going out of business.

While it won’t really affect our ability to watch, there is a good chance it affects team financials.

I will continue to pirate the games because even though I live in Raleigh, I have no good means to watch the game legally.

I’ve always been curious how this works. Like Mike, Tripp, and Hannah I think are employed by the team but obviously they need a tv network to be on to work. Curious how this will play out

I like to think every game i pirated played a role in this.

    I’m so proud of me.

Good. This shitty company won’t ever get a dime from me. Fortunately, they got me comfortable sailing the high seas so their greed backfired.

Hopefully another provider picks us up soon, but that’s what you get when you charge people more than a Netflix subscription to watch their favorite team and blackout the live and recorded games. Fuck Bally.
