While I don’t love 11/7 I also agree with not abandoning the strategy after 1 bad game

Jarnkork in the top six is the right spot for him. He’s on a 50 point pace on the season and has the ability to finish better than 75 percent of our forwards. At the very least he’s as good an option as Bunting is and a much better option than Kerfoot is.

  3. Can’t get no rhythm with 11-7 …… sit holl for fuck sakes smh. It’s not that difficult to come up with smh. Everyone has a dif line mate every shift man.

  4. skygrunt

Anyone else want another look with Timmins? Dude hits, can skate for a big man and is not afraid of actually shooting on net. I think he will quickly develop into a solid option with a strong defensive pairing like Schenn. Up front I’ve been less impressed with Bunting than with Kerfoot. Maybe an unpopular opinion but Kerfoot is useful if you don’t expect top six points from him.

  5. 7D is ridiculous, Dubas fucked up this team by adding so many D, he brought in too many toys and now Keefe and is losing himself

Not sure what it is, I know there’s injuries. But somehow I hate this teams lines more than at the beginning of the season. Should it not be the other way around getting closer to the playoffs? Do they look worse to anyone else? Why isn’t schenn replacing holl at least for a game?

Wayne…..PLEASE don’t take stupid penalties and this could possibly be an affective line.

I know I’m bias because I’ve loved Simmonds his entire career but if he can not take a dumb penalty and throw the body making the entire team hesitant to touch the puck…..maybe he still has a purpose….maybe? 😢

ok I’m starting to feel like I’m the only one not at all happy with Rielly Brodie as a pairing. They cant break the puck out its painful to watch, if you disagree I’d love to know cause I just don’t see it

edit- Brodie & McCabe have been solid together why break that up

I don’t like the thought of 11/7, but I’m kinda starting to like it in action. We have the elite forward depth to be able to rotate who gets an extra shift throughout the game based on who is firing. Plus our D hasn’t looked great for a bit, so everyone taking a shift and lightening the load on each other seems okay. It likely won’t be a thing when RoR returns, but it’s nice to know we can shorten the bench and give a different look here and there if we need to. I would love if we had a set lineup because I just like stability and predictability, but 11/7 and other lineup combinations we have tried haven’t been too bad now.

Fucking love this. I’ve been saying Bunting-Tavares would be a great duo all season. Bunting is the EXACT type of player JT makes better.

By doing this you allow a much more skilled winger to play with Mathews.

Kerfoot is a great bottom 6 guy but doesn’t have the finish to play up in the line up.

Looking forward to see how it shakes out

I couldn’t care less about the D, it’s a blender right now to see what works. With 3 weeks left we still have time to Iron them out

Happy to see Holl bottom pair and Kerfoot 4th line.

Seems weird, if Schenn isn’t playing, why not just let him spend some more time with his family before coming back?

  12. thismadhatter

7D is pointless when 1 is Rielly. Guy is a liability.

Also, how did Simmonds get back in the lineup?

  13. haggus3816

I can’t understand why Holl keeps getting regular minutes. Other than PK he isn’t anywhere near consistent at defending. He takes bad penalties but Keefe likes him. the guy has hit his ceiling and needs to be strictly special teams only.

  14. power_of_funk

Our bottom 6 (… 5?) sucks so much ass. What the hell did Dubas think he was doing at the deadline? Only player worthy of their roster spot is Kampf.

  15. Hannigan22

Am I the only one who wants to see
    McCabe – Brodie
    Reilly – Schenn
    Gio – Lily

  16. patchdouglas

they rolling with 4 guys on the 3rd line!

  17. xtzferocity

    A thought of mine:

We know what Simmonds brings, I am curious why they haven’t looked at elevating someone from the Marlies and sending down Simmonds (we know he won’t get claimed).

I’ve complained about 11F 7D mostly because we know what each D man brings and I think we can use this time to get guys into lineup to reward their play in the AHL.

Now understandably, due to the Marlies success this year they are set up for a nice Calder run and maybe you don’t want to mess with that. I still wouldn’t mind someone else get a chance in the bottom or top 6.

  18. dntstpblevin

Nothing generates chemistry like going with a completely different lineup every night…

ask anyone who played defense at a high level what they think about 7 D. Most will tell you it’s the absolute worst as a player—so hard to get a feel for the game and playing with a different partner every other shift. It sucks so much. Can’t speak to the analytics around it and whether it makes sense but I can tell you for sure the defensemen hate this.

  19. DerHofnarr

Aston-Reese always makes me think there are 4 guys on the line for a second.

  20. Sleazy_T

Aston, Reese, Kampf, Acciari is a strong four-man unit

  21. mattfromjoisey

Surprised Lily’s still top 4 with how he’s been posting lately. Hoping Schenn steps in once he’s fully back

  22. would like to see Jarnkrok and Bunting switched. when ROR returns he should center the 3rd line. Kampf moves to fourth, Simmonds out

  23. DizzyDelta786

Why not try mccabe on the right with Reilly? Why be stubborn and force him to the left when he can play both? Reilly mccabe, brodie schenn, gio lilly, gus holl as extras. I’ll never understand
