  1. First in regards to Timo I do think someone is going to outbid the Devils by overpaying, or he'll stay in SJ and waive his QA.

But Sam you can't prepare for everything in sports. Also comparing Timo to Matthew Tkachuk is inaccurate.

Matthew is even more of an analytical darling, and Timo has way more leverage over the Sharks with that qualifying offer in his back pocket should he resort to it. I don't think timo's trade value is substantially higher than Bo Horvat and centers always go for more than Wingers.

How long does Hamilton have at his prime? Palat? 2-3 years might be a safe bet, and trying to predict everything beyond that is insane. I'm all for seeing how far the current roster can go, a healthy Cap environment, and good trades. I also know younger, big scoring wingers rarely hit the market and this team needs 1. The Devil's can make the caps work for the next few years, and there are a couple key players who will probably only be in their Prime for a few years.

  2. I agree Sam. If negotiations aren’t going with Jesper, deal him sooner than later. Get a veteran forward and d man with playoff experience

  3. I’m not used to having an embarrassment of riches, with the Devils…so much so, that our 7th round puck-bomber, can’t get any meaningful playing time. A few small tweaks, and let them ride into the playoffs, AS-IS. Next season is a more realistic time to grab more significant players for a DEEP playoff run. Who knows? They might win the cup THIS year….

  4. We would be a lot better off if they didn't waste 6 million per year on that overrated bum Palat. With his big time 8 points at the all star break. One of the worst contracts the team has ever given out.
