  1. Briere was one of my favourite players growing up. He was an intelligent and clutch player and while that doesn’t always translate, I think he’ll be a good GM.

  2. no. 1 thing i'd bring up in the GMs' meetings? make refs available to answer questions after games, and/or have the league do official media releases/explanations on controversial or complicated calls. why is elliotte friedman explaning from 2nd or 3rd hand hearsay, why a goal was allowed or not allowed? i get journalists like having a job, but I'd love to hear that stuff straight from the horse's mouth.
