Rick Bowness on PLD:
"We’re going to leave it completely up to him. If he feels he’s 100% or close enough that he can not only play the game, but finish the game, and make a contribution, we’ll certainly let him play. That call is going to be made by him, not by us."#NHLJets

Wheww 😬
Too many on Twatter are dissing PLD on it being his choice to play tonight, as in he’s a wuss if he doesn’t. The hell he is! Just cause docs may say your brain has recovered from being concussed doesn’t mean that you don’t still feel it … so why take that chance??? Bowness is leaving it up to PLD so why can’t everyone just leave it at that.
I suffered a concussion once. It’s no picnic. The transition back to work was difficult. And I work mostly with computers and bits of paper in an office.
There’s no part of my job description that states I need to watch out for frozen rubber disks flying at my head at at 90 mph, or getting slammed into the wall by Simmons from Marketing, who happens to be 6’6” elite athlete with a bad attitude.
Why is he not playing in general?
Just saw the following comment on Twitter. It made me lol.
“Onefootoutthedooritis is tough to recover from”
A lot of people in here talking about it as if it’s a concussion. If it was a concussion, it wouldn’t be up to the player.
Neck injuries can have similar effects to a concussion and result in treating it initially as if it is one. With the fact that it’s up to PLD if he can play or not, makes it likely as if it was a neck injury and not a concussion.
