Team is still just not ready yet, we have games like this where our youth shows.
Adjusting to an 82 game series at an NHL pace is no joke, like 1/2 our teams conditioning has been to play 40 games at a lower level until this year. The result is we have games like this where mentally and physically we just don’t have it.
Erase those games and we maybe make the playoffs next year with more experience and off season training alone. Erase Clague and Bryson from ever taking the ice and it’s near guaranteed next year.

Noticed that Greenway hasn’t been contributing lately and is a minus 3. Question: Do the Sabres have what you could call a shutdown line? Like a line of just defensively minded 2 way guys?
Greenways entire career with the Wild was played on what fans called the shut down line or identity line. Not a huge upside on offense but a line you can put out against any teams top scoring line and you know they probably won’t score but definitely won’t allow many goals.
I genuinely don’t know if you guys have that so I’m just curious.

Brutal. Don’t know why we didn’t start Peterka dude was getting his mojo again and Jost was always a threat. Sorry to say but Jordan Greenway is a slower Girgensons. We dominated the first fifteen minutes but had lower danger to the chest shots to Hart and once they scored it dissolved. Really tough.

This is most frustrated I’ve been with Granato since early in the year, and his post game comments saying “can’t have guys sit too long” just made it worse. I’m fine with the team not making the playoffs as I never expected it but let’s stop with the lame excuses for who we scratch. If it’s truly a developmental year then why are we scratching Peterka. If we don’t care about pushing for the playoffs I’m fine with that as well but at least make sensible decisions in regards to the lineup.
Like if we only care about hurting peoples feelings then Granato is never gonna be able to lead this team to the next level. I don’t get how we’re at a point in the season where it’s a must win game and we scratch two guys who have been producing well lately for the guy we had in Rochester for the last little while. Just baffling decisions.
