Thought he was out for the season? Or is this just the beginning of several months of recovery?

Great news! The Leafs forgotten prospect.

Safe to say that even the optimistic fans of Robertson (myself included) recognize that his injury history has some serious cause for concern, but I still think very highly of this player.

His last two injuries have come from similar scenarios (heavy board battle that leads to an awkward fall). I’m hoping that with age Robertson’s body can withstand the heavier battles he’ll need to fight in the corners. He certainly has the mindset to win them, in spite of his smaller stature.

A good off-season and a re-start for him will be good. Hopefully by the beginning of the season next year he’ll be looking to compete for a full-time role in the top 9.

My only wish for Nicky Bobby is to play well enough at the start of next year for us to trade him immediately for something before he gets injured again.

Downvote me all you want, but his short T Rex arms will forever be the reason he can’t elevate to the next level.

He’s gotta play more like Johnny hockey and less like Noel Acciari. That’s always been his biggest pitfall is he only knows one speed. I hope he’s finally learned his lesson.

Rationally I know he won’t be good for playoffs but let me be irrational and Robertson-Matthews-Jarnkrok Line 1 Game 1.

I’m serious when I say that Robertson needs to take some lessons on how to play to his size. Because his style is unsuited for the NHL where bigger guys are just going to bully him around no matter what, if he keeps trying to play the style suited for people around the same size.

  7. Don’t have much hope left that he’ll be an effective forward at the NHL level.

Maybe we can entice his brother to sign here if we keep him around 😂

If I didnt hate the team, Matry St. Louis would be the perfect coach for this guy IMO.

Was another small guy who learned over time how to play and dominate against much bigger opponents.

Mostly it was he built tree trunks for legs and had an insanely strong core. When he mad contact he made sure to have a wide stance and to be the lower of the people going for the puck. Early in his career he got rocked a ton, but by the time he was in his late 20’s people bounced off of him who were much bigger.
