I posted on a Flames board at the trade deadline that the team seemed apathetic. The deals were neither going for the playoffs and it wasn't towards a strategic direction for next year. The fans all jumped all over me and said the team was fine and that Tre would fix it in the summer. The fans have put up with so much for so long….and continue to do so.
I just want the season to end and I don't want Sutter back next year. Treliving did the best he could last summer and the way things have imploded is depressing. Also Markstrom has to be a buyout candidate because he's a shell of his former self. So many questions with this team and I have no idea what the answers are.
Sure it's on the players. And with that many good players checked and struggling, points to the head coach. I don't even understand how Kirk Muller has a job as special teams coach, it has been a disaster. Sutter single handedly sabotaged Ruzicka's very promising season where he was nearly 1.0 point per game, and after he had 2 games without a point Sutter scratched him, and relegated him to the 4th line. Just atrocious. Numerous other chintzy arrogant Sutterisms, the guy needs to be gone yesterday.

It't been 20 years since the Flames have had a bona fide playoff run. Warner was on that team.
Every year it is the same old thing. Last year, for once, there was a glimmer of hope and then the off season happened.
Honestly, I'm not sure what fans are supposed to cheer about.
