  1. Holl needs to be sat permanently, lines need to be figured out and stop juggling every shift

  2. Toronto has to many legit Veteran and Youth Leaders….they are stuck in an Identity Vortex…….they need to move a few valuable vanilla players like Tavares and Marner to allow the Youth movement to take over completely like the Oilers did. I would market those 2 players+ next year for a legit in his Prime Goalie and a D-man like Larsson. Mathews and Marner are like Hall and Ebbs were they need to be separated to really mature and grow up.I think the Leafs are a Gritty- Identity and 5-6 Players away from being a legitimate SC threat….even Edmonton got nasty and snarly like Boston to elevate to the top echelon of NHL Playoff teams. Gritty is another word for tough/dirty/can back it up…. and Toronto is simply not gritty enough. The top 5 NHL Teams are built differently however ALL ARE GRITTY. I just feel that a Team can only support a specific % of the Strong Silent NON-Retaliatory turn the other cheek types before it becomes a Vanilla Team lacking a winning Identity…..I move Mitch Marner ASAP because of the unsetteling selfish "woke" impacts he inevitably brings with him like baggage….to reset the entire Organizations mindset…blow it all up and.bring in a real GM who knows how to build a Championship Identity around Mathews now before he leaves.

  3. Guys, the leafs problems is from the coaching. They never can adapt and make in game changes. I have no confidence in Keefe. I just think he is a minor league coach.

  4. Your additions should be adapting to your core….not the other way around. Every player boston got for example you can say "that guy plays bruins hockey."

  5. No the leafs are not looking for identity….Its called getting the pieces to fit the puzzle to make the picture. Why you you wanna show your hand now when you can show it in game one vs Tampa? What does the Toronto media want? Toronto to win the last 12 in a row.???O'Reilly is coming back and Knies is 100% coming up. Knies NHL comparable is Chris Kreider and I'll take that on a run past round one in the playoffs. Relax man stop being so uptight…Just BELEAF….GO LEAFS GO!!!!

  6. What nonsense. Identity never won a hockey game. The identity of any Team is based on the guys on it!!! The Team got absolutely spanked by the Islanders. "At the end of the day" you got to leave it on the ice…key people don't.

  7. Keefe is clearly the problem. He STILL can’t figure out the lineup. The players are clearly tired of the constant shuffling and their inconsistent poor play is proof of that. This is all headed towards another playoff failure.

  8. As a leafs fan, all I can say is that they dont have it. They don't have the compete to be a playoff teams.

Soft as butter they are and have weak character.

  9. I’ve been saying this for years, the leafs will never win a Stanley cup when the majority of lineup don’t finish checks, with the speed the leafs have, finishing body checks shouldn’t be a problem. When the opportune time for a body check, they rather go for a poke check instead. Playoff hockey is all about finishing your checks.

  10. Leafs are worse than they were last year at this time .. Goaltending, Defence and bottom 6 players are all worse than last year and tthey will lose in 4 or 5 games to Tampa!!!! Dubas and Keefe will be unemployed in about a month!! Shanahan should be fired as well!!

  11. Dude, who cares. It's just playoff time now. Don't care about home ice advantage, it hasn't helped us before. Stop bitching

  12. no, they have an identity. they are a team of very skilled guys who crumble in the first round of the playoffs.

  13. Bowness talking about PLD,Scheifele, Connor isn't good
Bad enough scheifele,Dubois, maybe hellebuyck will be moved don't want Connor to want out next. Then might as well start major rebuild everyone avaliable.

  14. Leafs added some slow, bottom six forwards, and 7th and 8th defenseman, and they think they’ve improved? Can’t make this up.

  15. I can't recall more than one or two times where Toronto has played a complete game this year. Sometimes they start well outshooting their opponents by a lot, and often taking a lead. Then in the second period they stop skating, get hemmed in their zone and are woefully outplayed and outshot. Once in a while that will happen. Even the Bruins had that one game against Calgary that their goalie absolutely stole, but Toronto has had far too many games like the Senators game where they were awful, or the Buffalo game where they put in a good 20 minutes and then except for the last five minutes were rolled by a slumping Sabres team that gives up goals for fun.

Unless there is a master plan that we can't see Sheldon and perhaps a few of the players should be seeing this as their last year.

Finally, why on earth is Kerfoot on the top line. He's a decent defensive player who skates well, but should be 3rd line at best, and also on the penalty kill. It's as if Keith is trying to hamstring Matthews even more (and I am quite sure he is carrying an upper body injury that just won't fully heal).
