Lucky fluke goal by Kane was the deciding factor against a non playoff team. No way the Rags get past the bruins or lightning.

Great night for the kids, but Halak came up big when it counted redemption for a soft one . They got it done, and every point counts nice with Turk's sister and her son to celebrate the win 🏆 🎉
Kid Line got the 3 goals tonight, was good, and Chytil was great, but it was the Trocheck Kane Panarin line that carried play the last 2 periods and turned it into a domination when they were out there. Endless possession in the o zone and chances on every single shift. I am confused why Gallant is underselling their performance here. That line probably produced around 20 shots on goal (inc d-men out there w them) in the last 2 periods. It was honestly more dominant than the Kane Panarin line in Chicago in 16 was, bc Trocheck is better than Anisimov.
this switch that flipped for Kane immediately between periods 1 and 2 (as previously happened @Pitt, when he got switched onto a better line after the 2nd) indicates that people still really don't understand this player – he communicates by effort. this will be his final line, it is his desired line imo, so the effort or anyway the production will probably not stall out again the rest of the way. but he had decided the Kreider Trocheck thing wasn't working for him (Kreider missed endless opportunities w him, isn't the passer he prefers on his line, etc), so he stopped trying on offense. Kane's rep is he doesn't try on defense. but no, he's played consistently responsible D here. he says he isn't happy w his linemates by his offensive play.
we'll see if it was one lucky game or if they are really back. if Kane Panarin Trocheck really are going to be as good together as they looked tonight, sky is the limit.
