Pierre Engvall scored in regulation, Ilya Sorokin made 25 saves, and both Bo Horvat and Kyle Palmieri found the back of the net in the shootout to lift the New York Islanders to a 2-1 win over the Washington Capitals.

    Kemper allowing way too many easy goals. Seems like every game he allows at least 1 goal that a 5 year old could block. 😂

    The Capitals team in it's present form is done. I believe a rebuild is coming. Their top six look old and slow.

    Kuemper is a good goalie, but not the excellent one. In the shootout he looked helpless, allowed goals too easy

    And the useless great ape plays his usual game of no defense and doing absolutely nothing except trying to pad his goal count. What a "great" leader his is. What should have been a decent team he leads to sixth, in the Wild Card standings because he doesn't really care about anything except scoring.

    The Islanders were 0-5 in shootouts before tonight. If they just won a couple of their previous shootouts before tonight they would be even closer to clinching a playoff berth. If only Toronto didn’t blow their game and lose to Florida then the Islanders magic number would be seven. Instead it’s nine. This upcoming back to back on Saturday and Sunday is going to be very difficult. They’re playing against Tampa on Saturday and then Carolina on Sunday. But the Islanders have secured more points in the standings then they did all of last season. They had 84 last year and they have 87 this year with six games remaining.

    Not enough goalies use the hard ass poke check in the SO anymore…it’s very effective and could throw some guys off currently

    The Washington Washedups are so done. An entire franchise turned into a campaign for a goal hunting goon. I hope this is the start of many years of them missing the playoffs.
