Sloppy start & a crap goal. Poor decision & pass by McCabe (who I like). Other than that, without Lyon standing on his head + a certain amount of luck, Toronto wins this game more often than not. For a team purportedly playing desperate hockey, Florida looked off their feed. The goalie saved them. Frankly, this game should not have got to OT. When I watch T.J. Brodie defending 2 on 1s, then watch Rielly's abject failures in the same situations, I realize how good Brodie actually is, as the timing & body position is critical. Rielly is clueless.
played hard but tough loss.. Matthews was playing great tonight and Sammy was also great tonight.. Mistakes happened but At least we got the extra point and Rest up Boys for Sat! GO LEAFS GO
Leafs have to wake the hell up…..I hope they realize there is no point for a loss in overtime come playoff time…this years playoffs are going to be horrible and short leafs lose in 5 games to Tampa…….
There is no way this team is built to win anything.
They looked sluggish to the puck tonight….. not the intensity needed. The type of performance which adds fuel for the haters…. disappointed but not downhearted
We were outcoached simple. Why in the F would you have quicksand tavares, turnover, Nelander and Morgan, Riley out in overtime?
Morgan, Riley is not our best defensive defenseman. On a 2-1, which would happen often in overtime,. Wouldn’t you want your best defenceman in that situation? Why in the heck would you put those three together in overtime? Coach is brain dead.
Pure excuses! These players will never win anything when game is on the line! Ever notice, they never look mad when they lose? Not one of them have that “refuse to lose” attitude! Pathetic, is what I say.

Reilly is supposed to be a leader on this team but he still doesn’t know how to defend a two on one, with this defense they are sure to be eliminated early in the playoffs. Their power play sucked with no sense of urgency and why does Keefe insist on having Reilly on the first power play with that silly drop back pass that he is always telegraphing, IMO the only over paid player who showed up to play last night was Mathews. Marner was terrible along with Tavares and Nylander, if the so called leaders on this team put out efforts like this in the playoffs then I don’t have much faith in a long playoff run.

so Mitch literally steels the puck while laying on the ice then threads the assist pass on one knee and all sports net mentions (3 times) is how great Matthews is, no mention of Mitch, lol frikkin bag lickers… again
also interestingly (I could be wrong only saw once) of the 3 immediate replays of said on the last two mitches assist was 'cropped' out of the frame
why is it only magic Mitch mentions leafs suck in the third ? (except Mitch and Calle who never stop going full out)

This is not samsonov fault it was not the right defemceman playing late in the 3rd period to shut down the Panthers and the overtime goal with Tavares not a fast skater to catch up with the play in overtime on the right shooter to tie up his stick. To prevent the scoring on the right winger of the panters but the leafs were playing not tough enough after paul Maurice went nuts on his players to wake up their game and we played soft again even with Simmonds in the game and the panthers stepped up their toughness if we do not have the right lineup in the next 3 games we will probably lose to Tampa because we cannot play soft hockey in the playoffs when it starts and Keefe has to wake up as a coach.
The Leafs played well tonight. I agree with Mathews that they play a simple game esp. protecting a lead.
