I’m pretty sure I don’t stand alone here, but it’s awesome to see records broke, and I’m kinda hoping they do and don’t. Why? Because seriously, fuck Boston.

Sorry I’m ignorant and only follow my team. What are they on the verge of breaking? Single season win record?
Dr_Psycho_809
I say yes.

Looking at their schedule:
Blues: as a fan this team has largely given up and is committing to a rebuild: Easy win
Leafs: A playoff team sure, but Toronto is pretty firmly set in where they will be in the standings, and so don’t lack much to play for: Should win
Devils: They’re fighting for a higher place in the standings, should provide a challenge: 50/50
Flyers: Another bad team with nothing to play for: Easy win
Caps: Bad season for them, and likely to be out of the playoff race at this stage: Probable Win
Habs: A bad team, but also a rival who would love to play spoiler: 50/50
If I had to predict anything, I would say this
STL: W
TOR: W
NJ: L
PHI: W
WAS: W
MTL: OTL
63 wins, 132 points: Get the win record and manage to tie the 76-77 Habs for most points.

I want them to do it 👍

Is anyone else predicting Boston gets eliminated in the 1st round?
cryptkicker130
I hope so as a Sabres fan that liked Ullmark.
On top of being treated like “gods” when this Buffalo guy went to the game on the day after a Buffalo firefighter died on a call, couldn’t buy a drink all night long with the Boston Fireman we ran in to.
tdfast
Does this count with the new OT/SO rules.
Enough-Competition21
Question is who takes them out in the playoffs. Cuz they ain’t winning the cup

The NHL started doing regular season overtime in 1983-84 and regular season overtime shootouts in 2005-06.
As of April 1, 2023, the 2022-23 Boston Bruins team has 50 wins in regulation, 56 wins in regulation+OT, and 59 wins in regulation+OT+SO.
The 1976-77 Canadiens had 60 wins in regulation.
The 1995-96 Red Wings had 59 wins in regulation, and 62 wins in regulation+OT.
The 2018-19 Lightning had 49 wins in regulation, 56 wins in regulation+OT, and 62 wins in regulation+OT+SO.

Well they will beat TO, obviously, the rest I’m not sure
chowmushi
Assume they’re going to beat STL, PHI, WSH, and they will break the record in Montreal on the last day of the season.

They will do it without really trying.

I’m going to the Blues game tomorrow just to see them play in person. They’re having a truly unreal season

They get the record 100% and I’m not even mad. This is absolutely bonkers for a post salary cap era team. Like… they’re about to hopefully have more wins that the Habs pre salary cap era aka almost 50 yrs ago… that’s ridiculous. I hope they do it.
NotAMacaw
They’ll beat the Leafs, Flyers and Habs no doubt, and then they should beat at least one of the other three.
Christ, they might just win all 6 games.
Tola76
I hate the bruins. I hope they do it.
Stock_Currency
And then they get swept in the first round by Columbus.
ImmortalHitman720
If they accomplish this will there be a notice of this occuring in a different era? The current record was set where games always ended in ties, and now those same ties always award one team with 2 points instead of one because ties no longer exist.
AkiraleTorimaki
No reason they can’t, but I’d rather they put their energy into winning the Cup. I love what the Bruins have done this season, but no matter how awesome this regular season has been for us, it’ll mean nothing if we don’t play well and win the Cup come playoff time.
fjordperfect123
I think all of these games coming up are winnable. The last time against Leafs on 2/1 was intense and felt like the playoffs.
Bruins won 5-2. Frigging half the team had assists.
Zacha scored twice in 3rd period. That’s the game I’m looking forward to most. This Thursday my first night off from work!
