You didnโt address the NHL rule regarding crosschecking. Rule 59. This was an obvious intentional attempt to injure and should have been a Match Penalty, rule 59.4, for deliberate attempt to injure an opponent. The result was a no call. In between 59.4 was 59.3 and 59.2, Major Penalty and Minor Penalty, respectively. No where in rule 59 does it allow for the NHL refs to just ignore a crosscheck. Ignoring rules does nothing for the NHL. It doesnโt make them money and it doesnโt improve the game at all. It does damage to the young kids watching this sport who see this and begin to act this way in the parks and streets of the world. Taking out the best player on the opposing team to shape the result of the season is being supported by the NHL refs and the league. Even if the refs missed this call, the league should be assessing a fine and game suspension for this hit.
Itโs playoff hockey. He didnโt try to injure thatโs just him showing kuch heโs there being a prick to play against. Itโs a hard hockey play no penalty.
I think the officials let way to much slide and it was an awful non call. The refs need to call more and be consistent. It has been an issue for too long where correctable errors slide snd effect huge games. For the record I am an Isles fan
