I know that even Gary Busey would look calm next to Tyler Myers, but I thought Hirose was pretty poised in his time on ice. Had a few blips, but that was expected. Super smooth skater, too!

For a first game on a losing team playing against a team that was looking to clinch he played well.

A couple of fantastic passes and some decent defensive plays. Should be interesting to see him going forward.

The kid had the poise if I ever seen it. His very first shift in the NHL could actually be a teaching tool. Low event, safe, calm and smooth.

Tyler Myers shifts can also be a teaching tool

  4. He’s not going to be a stud, game-changing D who can take over a game by himself. But if I’m looking for a calm, positionally-sound, good hockey IQ player — yeah, he’s it.
