I was curious, so I ran the numbers. Detroit went 12-8 against Canadian teams this season. They won each series against Montreal, Vancouver, and Calgary. They tied Winnipeg, Edmonton, and Toronto. The only losing series they had was against Ottawa. Given the state of the team against a lot of American teams, this doesn’t speak well for Canada.

Kubalik is just 2 points away from a career year for points. If he can get 5 more it’d give the Wings another 50-point guy. At 27 he’s just entering his prime too, so maybe he can get back up to 30-goal territory in the future. Another good signing by Yzerman. I wonder if they’ll try to extend him in the offseason.

Perron is another great signing. With Seider and Raymond having a bit of a sopohmore slump it’s nice to have some guys to add a few more points in there. Their offence could be really something next year if all of those guys are over 50-60 point guys.

We just need two of Florida/Pittsburgh/New York to lose their last 4 games and we win our last 5 games. Ez road to playoffs.
