Full quote from Miller (note he previously said in his Kraken postgame interview he “wasn’t 100% sure” about why he left the ice early after missing a breakaway):

For what it’s worth Tocchet said yesterday he has no issues with Miller. Miller has been incredible for us and that guys are allowed to show emotions every now and then.
Said the bad body language he was talking about is guys looking skyward after missing a chance or losing a battle and failing to stay engaged.
I doubt his teammates have a problem with it, so im not sure why fans would.
Man, this shit is getting overblown. Im not referring to the media asking him or Tocchet. Im saying that those who are critical of JT flipping out are being over-critical. There are many NHL stars that act like this from time to time. It aint my cup of tea (I personally prefer the Sedin type of leadership) but its not a big deal for players to act like this.

If the Canucks were on their way to the playoffs, Miller’s exit would have been a footnote and his frustration lauded as “passion”. At the end of the day, the guy’s a competitor and it’s great he’s still working on his game. This was all a molehill made into a mountain by the usual suspects.

This will always be one of those things that we love when he’s playing well and don’t care for when he slumps. Right now he is absolutely dominant and is driving play on what is basically our first line currently. Not saying you should ever leave the bench but if he wants to demand more of his teammates when he’s in form I’m all for it.
Looking at this thread, you can see all the miller haters trying to slander him.
Miller has been the exact same since he got here in 2019. He’s a great player who can go a bit crazy sometimes but he wants to win more than anyone.

I actually prefer this over early season Miller blowing up on teammates on the ice. It was a bad look. Sadly, the narrative about him being hot-headed will never go away. Even though he’s been much improved about handling his frustrations. Being mad is not a bad thing. Yelling at teammates on the ice and getting in public verbal confrontations with Schenn was just not a good look.
Miller’s intensity, when directed properly, is a winning mindset. He hates losing so much. It’s great, but just be careful how you vent that fristration. There’s a non story here, but because it’s Miller, it’s become one.
