Moritz Seider & Lucas Raymond Play Great | Red Wings Lose Hard Fought Game To Edmonton Oilers



It was a chippy, hard fought battle in which the Detroit Red Wings played neck-and-neck with the Edmonton Oilers, but ultimatley the bad guys won 5-2. Moritz Seider, Lucas Raymond, Jake Walman, Dylan Larkin & Tyler Bertuzzi all had phenomenal games but the rest of the team couldn’t support them. Ville Husso didn’t have his best game but their were still too many in-tight chances and powerplay opportunities. #lgrw

    Wings had a good 1st just couldn't finish on the open net pee wee league stuff Fabbri, had 3 chasing the puck and couldn't cover the open lane, couldn't help tipping in the puck on their own net Copp, couldn't aim the puck up in the 2 or 3 anyone, and made it clear Bert was the only one who could finish a shot clean tonight. For a year now everyone is talking about trading Bert. If you do, there's one less finisher on the team. A team of mediocre doesn't make a playoff team, your choice.

    Bert was Awesome, if Vrana was there they would have probably have scored at least 1 more goal… fix this nonsense

    This game sums up the team perfectly

    1. Lack of top end talent (particularly scoring)
    2. Played hard, but were simply outclassed
    3. Given 1 & 2 above, can not overcome the few costly mistakes they make each game or the 1 goal allowed that can be directly related to Ben Chiarot

    People get offended too easily with the Larkin getting traded talk. We aren't say Larkin is an issue, it's just the timeline of when the Red Wings will be legit and Larkin as a top center do NOT align. He will not be producing at his contract level when we are in our window, why tack on an overpaid center at that point? Unless he takes a cheap deal $7m-$8m it makes ZERO sense to pay him right now. We are still a good 3-4 years away till we are making deep playoff runs, trade Larkin while we can so we can have more assets to buy younger players for that era or move up in drafts. Love Larks, but sadly him & bertuzzi do not fit in the timeframe of the Red Wings window.

    It’s so hard to watch the Wings still get bullied. Teams know once they push us around we fold. Not a great look. Can’t score, can’t play physical…
