I totally get your point,& theres some truth to it…but not exactly a newsflash that Nuke-or anybody-will look/produce better next to Mckinnon,& Rantanen vs Compher,& whoever else. I totally get what you are saying, but it came accross as kinda-"no kidding bro-playing next to world class players makes it easier to produce pts,& have great analytics." But in general I agree with the point that is where he should be playing if all things are equal.
And you cant count injuries against them, his raw production per game is OVER what we wanted to live up to the contract. 60 pts over 82 games wouldve been great if ya ask me-plus his elite defense-hed be on pace for like 80pts if he didnt miss games cuz of injuries. And sure some of that is playing next to Mckinnon, but you can say that about a lot of dudes. Is Ryan Nugent Hopkins gonna end up atound 110 pts,if he plays on SJ? Probably not,but hes still would probably be 75-80pt dude. Sure it gets inflated some playing next to guys like Mckinnon,Rantanen,Mcdavid,Drasaitil. And you do have to factor that in that their production is somewhat inflated cuz of it. But only to a certain point,& we knew this when he signed that contract. We actually expected 55-60 pts, assuming the great players around him would play more games,& not have so many injuries-Nuke included.
Thats actually what makes all these guys production so amazing-how many games they missed,(except Rantanen-knock on wood)-or they had to play next to 4th liners,or AHL callups forced into the lineup cuz of beyond ridiculous injury issues. You can only go so far with the "he wouldnt produce like that if he was on a bad team." Cuz basically everybody-you could say the same about. Obviously guys like Mac or Mcdavid will produce awesome on any team. But if they played on SJ,& not with Drasaitil,Rantanen,Makar,Kane, etc…their production wouldnt be quite as high either-Mcdavid might ONLY be at 130-135 points-lol. If Dallas didnt bribe the hockey gods apparently,& get like no injuries this yr-their guys wouldnt have quite the same stats-lol.
To y'alls point at the end about how great this team has been constructed, "other teams have top 5 picks, where are there hall-of-famers" … I wonder if we give the coaches enough credit for how good our guys are and how well they are used. Bednar gets credit in Colorado but not outside, it seems, and I've heard people mention Parkala, mostly because of the Finland trip, but the Avs must have the best coaching staff in the world.
my favorite landy moment from the playoffs was smashing schenns face in after he knee on knee hit mikko. Avs went on to crush the blues
16×2 is 32… so that’s everyone right? Damn it’s nuts
