Hit in a game between the Los Angeles Kings and Minnesota Wild on Thursday, December 8th, 2011 at the Staples Center in Los Angeles, California. The call seemed to be weak.

  1. I was mad when Kopitar got hurt, but it's a clean hit. The only reason why there is an injury is because his head hit the board. By no means was it Brodziak's fault, I think it should be 2 mins for interference at the most.

  2. Kind of a brutal call for a interference penalty, even though they called it boarding. Though it's true that Brodziak hit Kopitar way too early and had him flying into the boards… the hit was clean. I don't think he'll get a suspension or fine from this.

  3. Why would he get suspended, why the Fuck? Clean hit in open ice his head happens to hit the base of the boards. Dumb call NHL

  4. This happened to me the same day! it is only dangerous because kopitar is not expecting to be checked. Had he been expecting it, it would not have been a penalty.
You guys need to remember that Brendan Shanahan and the NHL are trying to get rid of these dangerous hits. They are happening everynight and something needs to done

  5. @xReckedEmx i totally agree with you. They need to get rid of these types of hits, even if he did milk it

  6. You think he milked it? Dont get me wrong this hit was NOT dirty it was a CLEAN hit! However, when you do not expect it, you cant tense up and even your weight. Brodziak is not a dirty player so i do not agree with the game misconduct. The refs should know that, but then again, Kopitar does not "act" like all the panzies we have in soccer and football and he rarely complains to the refs

  7. "too early" my ass. the puck was like 6 inches from Kopitar's stick and he had more than enough space and time to take it, but he missed it. Clean hit. It was just Kopitar's own momentum and lack of balance that made him hit the boards awkwardly.

  8. Kopitar does not milk the refs, it was a clean hit but look at the way that he falls into the boards, whiplash

  9. A guy once punched me in the nose…it was a medicinal miracle that I was able to walk 2 minutes later.

  10. This is a completely clean hit and nothing wrong with it.
Kopitar got shaken up and shook it off and played the next shift.
I've carried on playing with broken ribs, fingers, and arms and fractured shoulders and rib cage. It's just a matter of shaking it off.

  11. He just got fucked up a bit. Ran his face into the boards. Caught his breath on the ground, what most players do. And sacked up and played. He's not Crosby, calling Bettman from the locker room and asking for a "ba ba".

  12. 1:06 first row seats and you have your feet up on the glass like you're watching the game in your living room?  Oh kings fans…
PS, Jim Fox… SHUT UP!!!  We have a TV, you don't need to explain everything like it's our first time watching hockey… we get it!  Less is more dude, less is more.

  13. "The call seemed to be weak" my ass. Interference if you want to lean weak, but that is WELL within the realm of boarding. the penalty isnt for intent, it is for what happened to the player on the recieving end of the play. For those who dont know, if you get hit into the boards(check) while you are not already against the boards(check) then it is boarding.
