  1. Mr Parker needs to keep his emotions in check, if he's getting so riled playing James hows he gonna cope playing a Shorbagy or Asal!

  2. How is squash ever going to make it to the Olympics when any form of emotion gets punished? It's a shame to see refs react so harshly to emotion on the court. Squash generally speaking is quite a boring sport to watch, even for someone that has played their whole life. Obviously, there needs to be some rules in place to stop people from being offensive or disrespectful on court. Things need to change if squash is ever going to appeal to a larger audience and actually make it to the Olympics like it deserves.

  3. I'll bet the conduct stroke was entirely appropriate if you see the rest of the match (I haven't) and I won't be surprised if Parker is heading for another PSA suspension (hopefully not 6 months like last time). There's no point getting mad at him, his lack of self-control hurts him in matches like this and, I'd bet, in his personal life. I just hope he gets whatever help he needs dealing with it because he's a monster talent and if he can make his intensity work for him (like say Nick Matthew) he'll be a must-watch player. Drama aside, fantastic match!

  4. Great match! Thought the conduct stroke might have been a little tough. Never saw any warning?

  5. As a signed up member of squashtv why can i not watch the full match on replay?

  6. I like Parker he just speaks his mind he just needs to divert his energies into his game he has the skills to trouble the top players

  7. That shouting and screaming is a terrible image for squash. His behaviour is unacceptable and it's good to see the refs stand up to this behaviour. Great that James won, a true sportsman and the representative you want for English squash.

  8. If Parker was to sort his attitude out he'd be a top player and one that could push for a world top ten. I've been playing squash for 40 years and yes it was a stroke. Ref didn't make any bad decisions it that match and as for the abuse at the end to the ref psa has to look at some sort of suspension.

  9. Give that reff a promotion! Far better than the clowns the psa currently use in their Platinum events.

  10. Yep Parker playing Asal would be a yell fest unfortunately……..and a good question is…… why don't referees caution/conduct stroke players for yelling at ANYTHING………the games would be a lot better without all the unnecessary noise!!

  11. Pity the ref thought it opportune to give a conduct stroke in the 3rd game with a sgt major style of refeering! I am no fan of Parker but he is the McEnroe of squash and the game needs these characters – same with Asal otherwise it is a bunch of good boy Farag stereotypes and yes men!

  12. George Parker needs to grow up; embarassing immaturity. And a real weakness which cooler opponents will happily profit from.

  13. You've got to wonder, who the hell does Parker have in his team? Why can't they do some leadership development with him? What a useless squandering of his talent because he can't behave like a grown-up.

  14. People want squash to be exciting, yet when players show emotions… They get so much hate… You might as well just watch robots play then. However, there is a difference in showing emotions and referee abuse…

  15. OK Willstrop was off form. for whatever reason, but he is still ranked top 20 in the world and these matches were a demonstration that English squash is in good shape, so I am very heartened by that. So sad to see the empty stands .. these great players deserve some applause for all their hard work in keeping our beloved game energised. Hopefully crowds will be back by the end of the year. A great tournament and thanks must go to ES and AJ Bell.

  16. It’s a similar thing that the general used to do earlier in his career but as he aged he got control with some help I think it important to have that agressive nature but as a professional everyone’s watching that’s the difference between top 15 n the rest they focus their aggressiveness n attitude on the ball n keep emotions at bay I really like Parker he’s super fit n fast n great skills he just has to harness the rest 🏇 👍 he’ll be right

  17. Good on the ref for giving the conduct stroke. Totally warranted, and I wish they'd hand out more conduct penalties at the top level. Mostly because I'm tired of seeing shouty amateur players taking after the pros and trying to intimidate referees into more favorable rulings.

  18. Seen much worse and never a conduct stroke given. Like he said he just shouted, showed emotion. He didn't swear.

  19. She called James’ self-defense reaction nick “Jammy”. Haven’t heard that term since I was in the middle 6th!
