As a Wings fan, this was an unintentional dirty hit, but a dirty hit all the same. The principal point of contact can't be the head, and it was. And to the people saying, "That's why they say 'keep your head up,'" no…no it's not. They say 'keep your head up' so that you don't get cranked at all, not so that you don't get hit in the head. Abby isn't a dirty player, but he is a player that plays right on the edge, and sometimes he inadvertently has hits like this. Suck it up Wings' fans, we're better than a bunch of whiney, homer, ignorant fans. We don't live in Boston for Pete's sake.
it's a shame that anyone views this as a dirty hit. it wasn't even penalty worthy. only reason contact to the head was made was because of the way Campbell was skating and his height. he lined him up. abby didn't leave his feet and he didn't charge. just a classic hit in which he lined him up. this was clean
As much as I hate the Blackhawks, Abdelkader is a goon. I don't care if he's quiet around the league or not. He makes dirty plays time and time again. I'm sick of it and him. The Karma, Red WIngs won't make the playoffs so might as well Goon everything out now until Golfing season for them.
