    What is Karlsson doing on the poverty sharks? This man deserves better and deserves the right to play for a contender not a team that’s in a rebuild and in turmoil

    So proud of Karlsson! Went from being the worst contract in the league to… almost worth his value. His defensive play has also been very underrated this year, should have the Norris locked up.

    McDavid hitting 150+ points, two 60 goal scorers, a 100 point defenceman this season. It's the 90's all over again!

    Very tough to have a great plus ,minus when the other teams are 90% in your zone the whole game , a knowledgeable hockey fan knows this !

    I hope he gets Norris. I don't even care about his defence and I agree they should separate offensive and defensive defencemen of the year awards. But since right now there's only one, give it to Karlsson.

    Nothing compared to Mattews Magnificent 51 goals in 50 games last season.
    Karlsson is good but Magnificent is generational talent and the main reason why the Leafs are the heavy favorite to win the cup every year.

    I really hope they have some good luck in the lottery and pick up Bedard. Would be a treat to see him being served by Karlsson and get off to a flying start to his career.

    If that doesn’t seal the deal for the Norris trophy I don’t know what will. Congrats EK 65! Most points for a defenseman since ‘91-92!

    This is the greatest season by a NHL defender ever, i will drop some numbers here to prove that.

    Before EK65, five defenders have hit 100p in NHL.

    Orr did it 6 times, Coffey did it 5 times, Potvin, MacInnis and Leetch did it one time each. A total of 14 times.

    Potvin had 101p, but he still was only 3rd in points with Islander, number 1 was Trottier with 134p.

    MacInnis had 103p, he was 2nd in Flames behind Fleury who had 104p.

    Leetch had 102p, he was 2nd in Rangers behind Messier who had 107p.

    Coffey had 126p(2nd in team), 121p(3rd) and 138p(2nd) with Oliers, Gretzky had 205p,208p,215p same seasons.

    And he had 113p(3rd) and 103p(2nd) with Penguins. Lemieux had 199p and 123p.

    Orr was runner up 4 times in Bruins with 139p, 117p, 101p, 122p, behind Esposito who had 152p, 133p, 130p and 145p.

    But he won the team scoring 2 times with 120p and 135p. Esposito was runner up with 99p and 127p.

    My point is that all of them played in super stacked teams with loads of HoF players in their prime.

    7 times the team had 3 or 4 100p players!

    All of them won Stanley Cup at some point with the team they hit 100p with (Coffey with both Oliers and Penguins).

    Orr's 1969-1970 season is the only time a defender won team scoring with no teammate over 100p (Esposito close on 99p).

    EK65 closest teammate have 67p. Sharks is nowhere close to a Stanley cup, they are a botton four team with fewest wins in league.

    Everybody talks about McDavid, and the season he have(in his prime). EK65 matches his number this season in 5vs5 points as a 32 year old defender in a crappy team (Coffey was the oldest 100p defender before at 28 year).

    I can drop more numbers but this is getting a bit long.

    Gratz EK65 for the very best season ever!

    I don’t know what’s more impressive. What we’re getting from McDavid this year, or what Karlsson has done offensively on this god awful Sharks team.

    Wow what an outstanding season and performance by EK65! 👏 Surely you can discuss some of his defensive plays but people hating on him lack perspective. What he did and his resurgence this season is nothing short of remarkable. Congrats Erik!!

    Regardless of his 100 points I challenge anyone to try to find any player in NHL history , attacker or defender , who ended up in the point stats top ten place while playing for an absolute bottom team.

    aside from all the injuries i think the miscarriage of his unborn child is the biggest reason for the struggling seasons.

    And yes his +- is not great but if he was from us or Canada the norris vote would be Erik in 1 2 and 3 place.
