Evgeny Kuznetsov’s Shootout Goals Are Getting SLOWER
#evgenykuznetsov #kuznetsov #nhl
Evgeny kuznetsov is currently 26 for 59 in his career so far in shootouts. He is 5 for 6 in shootouts this season because of his slow shootout move. These slows goals are taking him about 11 seconds to score and they keep getting slower. Goalies are not happy that this move is allowed and these slow shootout goals are creating controversy around the NHL. I think that the NHL will debate soon if there should be a time limit in shootouts.

  1. Sounds like your a little upset about it? Lol….This is a work of art. I hate the Caps, but I could watch Kuznetsov all day long. Most underrated player in the league.

  2. I don't know why people hate it so much. Within the rules and the goal is to put the puck in the net and he is. There has to be a counter move – maybe poke check/be aggressive?

  3. Seems like Kuznetsov ALWAYS goes stick side. I have watched a bunch of these and he always scores on his forehand. Goalies should cheat to that side and make him go with the backhand. Make him at least try it to take him out of his comfort zone. This is not unlike the defensive shifts in MLB that were recently outlawed. It was up to the hitter to adapt/adjust. The goalies should be adjusting to this and they're not.

  4. I am NOT a Capitals or Kuznetsov fan, but I don't see anything wrong with this or the need for a shot clock. He is following the rules. Goalies just need to find a way to stop him. I know I would like the goalie of my favorite team to. I've been watching hockey for over 60 years and I'm not happy about a lot of the ways the game has changed over that period of time.

  5. The puck needs to be moving constantly forward, and he does a good job everywhere but consistently has the puck going backwards on the last back feed to his actual shot. They could call it off right there.

  6. I can see this leading to a shot clock. He isn't breaking the rules but I'd hate to see it become a trend. It's boring if you're not a Capitals fan. It's not what you expect or want to see when you hear "shootout". Using the shift wasn't breaking the rules in MLB but they changed the rules because it took away hits and great defensive plays…excitement. I agree though that the goaltenders should be more aggressive.
