[Masters] Knies on playing with O’Reilly & Nylander: “It’s kind of a dream. You watch those guys growing up when you’re a little kid. It’s special what they can do with the puck & special the plays they can make. I just try to support them out there & be the best linemate they can have”

Honestly wish they had fallen out of the tourney a few weeks ago, imagine if he had 10 games under his belt

    >Matthew Knies on returning to the building where his Minnesota Golden Gophers lost in OT of the national championship game on Saturday: “I don’t like this rink, to be honest with you. It kind of stinks.”

    >Matthew Knies on his parents: “My mom’s a doctor. She’s a pediatrician so she’s always worried about me getting hurt or the bumps & bruises so she’s always on edge. My dad is more calm”

    >Matthew Knies: “There’s no fights in college with the cage on so it’s pretty fun to see, it’s pretty fun to watch. I know Schenner kind of gave it to him there. It’s really cool to be a part of it. It’s intense out there so it’s fun to be a part of.”

    >Matthew Knies on William Nylander: “He can really slow the game down. That sauce pass he made to me in the slot, only a handful of players in the league can make that kind of play. His hockey sense & his ability to slow the game down is pretty elite.”

    >What stands out to William Nylander about Matthew Knies? “His size & his speed &, I mean, winning pucks back & obviously the shot. That one was a little unlucky that it didn’t go all the way over the goal line. He could’ve had a couple today. He’s flying out there.”

I’m guessing that comment is more geared to ROR? Haha Willy is only 6 years older

Nylander being listed as a guy someone grew up watching got me right in my old ass feels. Feels like yesterday Marner, Matthews, and him were the rookies the rest of the league wanted to stop hearing about.

Knies looked really good during the midway mark in 2nd period. I’m not talking about the point he got.

I’m still kind of floored that Matthews and Marner were out and our top 6 was still

    Bunting-Tavares-Jarnkrok
    Knies-ROR-Nylander

Like wtf?! That’s a very good top 6 missing 2 of the best players in the NHL lol.

God damn we are a spoiled fanbase

    Bunting – Matthews – Jarnkrok

    Kerfoot – JT – Marner

    Knies – ROR – Nylander

    ZAR – Kampf – Acciari

    Decent

This kid has accomplished more in 8 years than most of us in one lifetime.

Did he just say he watched Nylander as a kid 😮
