I would try to go after Carter Hart with that first-round pick instead of Askarov 🙂
Why do a lot of habs fans want to trade assets while in a rebuild? Especially for guys who want to be here and for goalies that have struggled with consistency in markets with a lot less pressure. Let's just draft a goalie this year and see what happens this is a really good draft especially if you watch junior hockey and not just the WJHC you know that some of these guys between 15-20 are lottery guys in the past two drafts.
why would teams trade their future goalie? it's not because we don't have a future goaler that the other teams will offer us one lol

I would definitely be down with trading for Askarov but I'm sure it's going to cost more then a first round pick that is later then the first round pick Askarov was picked with himself

That first carter hart offer is obviously not an overpay, he's got amazing potential ,the flyers are just trash. Get his idol to coach him and unlock his full potential.
Habs do not need to trade Florida 1st round pick for Dubois. They have the leverage so prospect and 2nd round pick only and maybe player with salary going to Jets to offset Dubois contract unless a 3rd party gets involved. Maybe Armia, Drouin or Hoffman

any trade that brings dubois to montreal is an L for the habs. if i wanted cancer i'd smoke 10 packs a day.
and even if he wasn't a drama queen, why spend a 1st on a player who would cost only money next summer? it's not like we'd make the playoffs with him. we have a dozen fewer points in the last 2 years than the bruins had this year.

Good balanced traded are hard to find ? That is why we are not NHL GM because real trade are hard to find. P.S. I know most of us (i.e. amateurs) will have not trade Sergatchev for Drouin neither, but at that time Drouin was a very talanted young French Canadian Center and Sergatchev was the Andrei Markov replacement and we add plenty of Left Defensemen in the system.

A first for PLD would have to include others in order to dump salary.

Personally i Would propose Dvorak, and a 3rd or 2nd or something Like that.
Why trade for another goalie now if next year is another rebuilding/tank year? I agree an upgrade in goal would accelerate the rebuild same as acquiring PLD. We have options now and maybe more next season.
